We used our head, hand and heart in PE today to help us – think about balancing sequences, balance with control and have the confidence to make shapes using their bodies. We linked it to our expedition and the children came up with movements linked to a baby, toddl
This week as part of our expedition, we are looking at what we can do to keep our bodies healthy. Today we focussed on learning to wash our hands properly, to stop germs getting into our tummies. We used glitter to represent the germs and noticed that it we just put our hands in the water, the glitter did not come off. We then used soap to wash our hands and the glitter all came off. We spoke about how you need to wash between your fingers and your wrists too.

In F2BP, we drew around Charlotte’s body. We talked about ways we look after different parts of our body. Mrs Bubb was so impressed with all the things we already do to keep our bodies healthy. Watch out for more learning in case study 1, where we will find out what happens to our bodies as we grow.
On Tuesday, we were thrilled to have Phil Sheppard from the National Literacy Trust and Doncaster Stories deliver a workshop about the Iron Man, to support the reading we have been doing.
Phil guided us through how to draw the Iron Man, using some of the techniques book illustrator Chris Mould used when illustrating the book, the Iron Man.
We were very proud of the result!
We are looking forward to working with Phil again on World Book Day.

In Year 2 this week we have been learning about the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. We have been using the words sides and vertices when we have been describing shapes and we also practiced making and drawing 2D shapes using a Geoboard.
Can you name the shapes we made?

As part of our hook week, 2P tried a variety of different fruits and vegetables. We described if the food was sour, sweet, bitter or strong. We tried some food that we hadn’t tried before and it certainly made us pull some strange faces!

Congratulations to Phoebe and Liarna for being this weeks pride of Plover.
Phoebe has settled into her new school superbly this week and has been spreading lots of happiness to all of the EYFS Crew.
Liarna has impressed us so much with her phonics, Fred talk and writing of letters. Keep up the positive learning! #LovePlover
