African day
F1 have enjoyed learning all about Africa today. We had lots of fun tasting the orange cake and juice we made yesterday, using African instruments, doing African dancing and African colouring. Thank you to all the parents that supported us by sending their child dressed up, everyone looked amazing.

Reading Superstars
The children in my Reading group have been working so hard with their reading fluency and comprehension and together have read over 1,250,000 words!
Today we had a fruit party to celebrate and the children had a great time.
We’re already working towards our next target of 1,500,000 and planning our next reward.

Today, some children made their boats to help the gingerbread man cross the river! Some children wanted to add safety features so the fox could not get to him! They selected their own resources and used all their own ideas. It was lovely to hear them communicating and extending their ideas together. We are engineers!

Baking with Nana Bubb & juice making
We have had a great day today, baking orange cake and making our own orange juice! We even had a special visit from Nana Bubb this morning, as our expedition expert, to help us make the cake. We are so excited to taste them tomorrow for our African celebration day.

School Photography – Class Photos
We had a great morning in school yesterday and the children were fantastic having their class photos taken. Your child has been sent home with a letter with a QR code on. Please scan the QR code today with the camera on your phone, or go to www.pics4schools.com and enter your security code then enter your email address in the box shown. You will receive an email shortly telling you that your photographs are now available in a gallery for you to view. This new system has replaced the old proof cards so please make sure that you look for the letter and register your email address today. Thank you.

The School Nursing team will be at Lakeside Village on Friday 23rd May between 10-2 with the health bus for any support or advice.
