Family Learning Fun!

What a busy morning! Thank you to all of our parents who joined us this morning to hook your children into their new expedition. Special shout out to Sienna’s mum who helped us to build our Roman centurions. They were much trickier for children’s small fingers to manipulate and build than I had anticipated. Everyone had so much fun and had learnt so much that moans and groans could be heard when it was time to pack away – so we didn’t – we extended the session instead. I hope you had a great day 4H, I know Miss Carter loved her morning with you and I have thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon too!

We love maths!

Year four have made a fabulous start to their new maths learning. Using the manipulatives, they practised building numbers up to 1,000 and representing them in different ways.

Well done, Year 4. Keep working hard!

I am compassionate!

Thank you to this young man who was so kind and compassionate all day on Wednesday. He saw when others needed a helping hand and did whatever he could to help them out. He helped me when he could see I had too many things to carry and his manners are absolutely second to none! I can guarantee that should you see him in the corridor, he will always say hello and ask how you are! What an amazing young man!

Roman expert visitor!

Thank you Claire from Want2B workshops. We had a fantastic experience with you yesterday. Our favourite activity was using the role play shields to march in line as Roman soldiers using the correct Latin terms and stereotypical Roman army formations.

Looking at the genuine Roman artefacts was really interesting. Although, it felt weird to know we were holding buttons from the uniforms of actual Roman soldiers. Building aqueducts was great fun too. This really challenged many of us, so we had to be courageous to give the task a go and resilient when things went a little wrong and our aqueducts collapsed.

Special shout out to Zara who was the first to successfully build her aqueduct! You superstar, well done!

What an amazing day!

6B’s super stewards!

These superstars have done an amazing job as our classroom stewards and they have been holding us all to account in 6B to keep our learning environment clean and tidy. They have taken their roles very seriously and I very proud and very thankful for them,

Keep it up superstars!

So proud of the new 6B- postcards for all!

6B have absolutely smashed their start to Y6. They have all shown immense courage this week during assessments and they have taken them in their stride. They have all shown a fantastic attitude to learning. The children have really listened to their gaps to help them when making their academic pledges. I just know we are going to smash this year!

Well done my lovely lot! Keep up the hard work!

Compassion in 4B

On the third day of Crew Week, the class completed some activities to demonstrate the character trait: compassion. We took part in the colour run to raise funds for the school as well as our charity the RSPCA. We also completed a kindness chain to display the kind acts we have done some far this year which we will hopefully add to as the year progresses. Finally, we decorated our own baby egg which we had to show compassion and care for to make sure it didn’t crack.

Well done 4B, we have shown what a kind and compassionate class we can be!

Pizza making workshop!

Some children from Year 5 & 6 were able to engage in a pizza making workshop at Pizza Express. They each made a margarita pizza through the guidance of Adrian the pizza maker. The children really enjoyed the workshop and getting to eat the pizzas. To spread kindness, some of the pizzas were shared with staff at XP to thank them for their hard work organising the arts festival and then to Plover staff to thank them for their hard work too!

Enjoy the video!
