Pride of Plover

Last week’s Pride of Plover was a huge one! The stories we heard of personal resilience and overcoming challenges were inspiring. It was great to see how we all make progress in different ways and at different paces but that working hard is always the key. Well done to everyone for showing us what it takes to be our Pride of Plover.

You’re sure of a big surprise for Year 3 and 4!

Yesterday was the third and final event as part of this year’s National Literacy Trust Young Readers programme and we held the event at Sandall Beat Woods.

The children all chose their third free book and we went to the wood to enjoy reading and sharing our stories in the open air with nature all around us.

It was great to welcome parents and carers to the event and so lovely to see the children sharing the books with their family.

After a biscuit or two, we circled up, shared a story and completed the last community crew of the year.

We have felt so lucky to be selected to take part in the programme this year, and really hope we get the opportunity to do it again in the future.

Sports Day!

KS1 finally got their sports day today and what a great time we had! 2P really enjoyed the mix of different activities that we got to have a go at, with the javelin being the surprising favourite (despite the wind!). We all worked hard and had great fun and even challenged ourselves to do things we weren’t sure we could do. Well done 2P!

XP Arts Festival

On Friday, we celebrated the wonderful talent we have at Plover School and more widely across the whole trust.

The Plover LKS2 Cheerleaders and UKS2 singers entertained the audiences and the Year 4 dancers performed the routine they have been working on for weeks.

It was a very hot day but the children kept their energy high for their performances in the afternoon and evening and they were a very gracious audience for the other performers.

What a great day!

What a euphoric end of the year Sports, PE and Physical Activities awards assembly we had – as we had the pleasure of welcoming Donny Dog, Coach Tom and the sublime League 2 Trophy which Doncaster Rovers won last season! Thanks to Coach Tom for sharing some expert knowledge and skills the Doncaster Rovers players used to achieve their incredible success. What a celebratory morning we have had! A huge appreciation to all the Plover children who have contributed and participated in Sport, PE and Physical Activity this year at Plover and in the community. Thank you to Legacy Sports Yorkshire for your competitions, opportunities and awards. Well done to all our winners in the different categories!

We are proud to have achieved the Gold School Games Mark for a 2nd consecutive year and have been awarded the Equal Access to Sport award as we continue to provide opportunities for girls, FSM and SEN children. #LovePlover
