Once they had cooled we decorated and ate our cupcakes. We used our fine motor skills to try and write the initial letter in our name, using the icing pens. They were delicious!

Well done to the children who were among the first this year to receive awards for Times Table Rock Stars and Reading Plus – you really are ‘getting smart’! We can’t wait to see you, and more, being recognised again in Community Crew again soon.
Year 6 really enjoyed their experience of being a sports journalist with Gareth. They produced some beautiful pieces of writing.
Thank you to Gareth from #LiteracyKicks #SportingHeritage #WomenInRugbyLeague for leading a Rugby League journalism workshop with our Y5/6 children! The children were immersed in the rise of women’s rugby league, due to the Hall of Fame 1996 Lionesses team! We were lucky to have Jill Adam a local inspirational role model who was an integral part of that team! The children wrote some awesome articles! #LovePlover
So proud of these superstars who have been working hard at home on their spellings. What a fantastic example of craftsmanship and quality- continuing to practise until knowledge is secured! Well done! 10 crew coins for ‘getting smart’.

This week our focus of spelling will be ‘adding suffixes that start with a vowel letter to words with more than one syllable‘. Use the video below to get ahead in your learning!
Please bring in spelling work you do at home to your class teacher.

F2M have all worked so hard in phonics this week. Learning their first 5 set 1 sounds, playing Fred games, developing fine motor skills and letter formation! #LovePlover
Today we have practised pencil grip/control in nursery, tracing over our names. Some children absolutely wow’ed me being able to copy their name underneath! What amazing work.

Crew Meade,
We hope you like your child’s end of year gifts. It’s linked to one of our favourite books. Imagine if they keep it until they’re adults and can look back and smile at their time in F2, remembering they are perfect in their own unique way! Thank you Crew Meade for all your hard work and support this year! #LovePlover

Next year, our lovely Year 5&6 pupils will participate in half-termly spelling bee’s in their crews. We will be kick-starting the first half-term with the above spellings. Every week, the children will be given a list of 10 spellings from the above list to learn ahead of their spelling test. Every time a child scores 7 out of 10 or above, they will have their name added to the spin the wheel. At the end of the half-term, at our spelling bee, we will spin the wheel and six children will have the opportunity to represent their crew. They will be given a further ten spellings from the list (ones they have already been tested on) and if they score seven or above on the day, they will be able to choose from one of our fantastic prizes: an Amazon voucher, a Stanley cup, a chocolate hamper, a sweet hamper or a sports hamper as well as further prizes which will be confirmed in the autumn term.
You have to be in it to win it so over the summer is a perfect opportunity to get ahead with your spellings!
