We can identify partitive nouns…

In English, we have been looking for and suggesting different partitive nouns to show how much of a particular something we have. The children suggested a teaspoon of sugar; a loaf of bread; and a bolt of lightning amongst many others. They were then able to insert missing partitive nouns into a recipe for hot chocolate.

Well done everyone!

Our author of the month- Zanib Mian

Crew Blackham started their time to read crew session by building background knowledge on our author of the month- Zanib Mian. The children discovered lots of interesting facts about her including the various awards she has won. They were particularly interested in reading her collection of books named Planet Omar so we have voted them to be our next crew text!

We Are Storytellers

Today we re told the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We discussed key vocabulary then practised the key phrases that are repeated throughout the text. It was lovely to see children continuing this in their own provision, after we had done it as a whole class.

Library Visit

A big thank you to all the parents who supported the children on their visit to the library today. The children enjoyed visiting the library and looking at the large selection of books they have. We shared a story together in the library and it was lovely to see some families even signed up to go back!

Class 1C Tell A Story!

In our new expedition, we have started reading the Big Book of Birds. To help us remember the information that we are learning in this non-fiction text, we came up with actions to help recall the words and all the wonderful facts about parrots!

Working Hard

English – we looked at features of a non-fiction text and created a talk for writing story map about parrot facts!

In Maths we were understanding how to make 10.

BSL crew and some beautiful home learning from Dolunay! #LovePlover
