We are poets!

6B have produced some stunning poetry this week! We watched the short film ‘behind enemy lines’ which is a really touching story about two boys reading their Grandfather’s letters home during WWII. We then discussed the clip and made lots of notes to support our poems. I was absolutely blown away by their efforts and I feel extremely proud of each and every one of them. Well done 6B!

Shout out to these little stars ⭐️

Well done to this lovely lot in 6B who have been this weeks winners of the Plover postcard! You have all achieved fantastic scores on your HOWLs this week and I couldn’t be prouder! Keep shining my little stars! You are awesome!

Firework artwork!

Tonight we may not be celebrating bonfire night as we normally would so we decided to create our own firework display this afternoon using a range of art techniques. 6B have been total superstars and I am loving the abundance of colours in my classroom from their stunning creations! Well done my lovelies!

Analysing poetry

6B have been hard at work today, picking out features in a piece of poetry. They have then created their own examples of the features. Ask your children to give you examples of metaphors, onomatopoeia, figurative language, emotive langue and similes! You’ll be very impressed!

Outdoor PE next week

Next week, on Tuesday, we will be doing games outside for PE. We will be practicing our football skills so your child will need a PE kit with a tracksuit to keep them warm. They will also need a pair of trainers in their bag too. If they have football boots and shin pads they can wear those too however,  if they don’t have them don’t worry as the trainers will be enough. They must have a different footwear as the field will be muddy!!!

If your child has asthma, please check they have an inhaler in school and that it is in date.

Jenson is a star!

Jenson has been a superstar this week and he is the first winner in 6B of the Plover praise postcard! He has pushed himself to achieves his MEs. He has coached his friends and he’s done it all with a smile on his face! We are so proud of you Jens! Keep up the good work!

Black out poetry!

6B have created some gorgeous black out poetry this morning to hook them into our new poetry cycle! I have really enjoyed reading their creative pieces! Ask your children what they titled their poems!

Reading From Home Online

Online reading books!

Myon is now ready to use so you can read books from home (online) using www.myon.co.uk

There is a link from the home page of the school website that will take you straight to the site.

Myon is an online digital library of reading books (a bit like Epic Reading if you have used that before.) but the benefit is that it has books linked to Accelerated Reader, so you can quiz on lots of books they read online. You can link your account to AR and it will suggest books for you to read which are personalised to your reading fluency. The great thing is that you can access these books from home.

Your logins are the same as logging onto AR.

There is a parent guide to using this uploaded into our google classroom.
