Just a reminder to our lovely Year 6’s. You are all amazing and we are so, so proud of you all!

SATs don’t measure sport and SATs don’t measure art,

SATs don’t measure music or the kindness in your heart.

SATs don’t see your beauty, SATs don’t know your worth,

SATs don’t see the reasons you were put upon this earth.

SATs don’t see your magic or how you make others smile.

SATs don’t time how quickly you can run a mile.

SATs don’t hear your laughter or see you’ve come this far,

SATs are just a tiny glimpse of who you truly are.

So sitting at your table, with a pencil and your test.

Remember SATs aren’t who you are,

remember you’re the best!

We are all so proud of each and everyone of you Year 6. Your commitment to learning this year has been amazing. You are going to smash your SATs next week! Enjoy your weekend and have lots of fun- you deserve it!

3GS are writers!

3GS have all worked really hard to produce some fantastic setting descriptions of their own chocolate factories, I was very impressed with the effort and imagination of everyone in the class; you should all be really proud!

Here are a few examples of their beautiful work:

Sunny days

As the weather is due to be warm and sunny again today, please ensure that your child has sun cream on before coming to school, a water bottle and has a sun hat.

Thank you

We are getting quicker!

4H have been practising how to find words in a dictionary. It has certainly been interesting and the children have really had to grapple with the process of how to do this. As we made great strides of improvement yesterday, I began racing the children to see who could find the stated word the quickest. Methmi and Poppy were not happy that they were only a couple of seconds slower than I was! Maybe next week they will beat me…

We are writers!

We have had great fun this week writing our own descriptions of different rooms within Mr Wonka’s chocolate factory! Ideas were bubbling and expanded noun phrases were brewing then the creativity was really let loose!

I look forward to marking your final drafts.

We are Getting Smart

Using the dictionaries and thesauruses that Mrs Graves has recently bought for school, we have been able to find synonyms and antonyms without having to ask for help! We feel so proud of ourselves and will get quicker at finding the words the more that we practise.

Thank you Mrs Graves, we love these!

LKS2 Parents Meeting – Times Tables Check

Year 3 and 4 parents are invited to a talk about the National Times Table Check (MTC), set by the government for all pupils in Year 4.

We will explain what the MTC is and how you can support your children in the run up to the check in June.

In the meantime, all Year 4 children are invited to Times Tables Breakfast Booster Sessions on Tuesday Morning, 8:20am.

With thanks

Mrs Graves
