Shout out to Kodish who won keeper of the season!
Good luck next season, everyone!

We can plan and carry out a fair test!
Over the last couple of weeks, Years 3 and 4 have been working as scientists and experimenting with states of matter: trying to find out if temperature affects the rate at which matter changes state. Our final task was to investigate the quickest way for Mr Wonka to create his chocolate river if all of the chocolate he has only exists in solid form.
Here we are, trying to think of different ways Mr Wonka could try to melt his chocolate…I wonder which location or method worked the best and melted the chocolate the quickest?
Now to consider our findings and draw conclusions for Mr Wonka!

Active maths in F2B

F2B had so much fun this afternoon doing some active maths in class. We read the story ‘Ten minutes to bed Little Mermaid’ where the children learnt how long 1 minute was. We then guessed how many times we could do different activities in 10 minutes such as hopping on one foot or rubbing our tummies after lunch! We then timed each other to see if we were right!
Keep up the great work F2B!
Miss Wood.
I Always Get Smart!
Methmi is such a fabulous young lady: she never ceases to amaze me! During Science lessons, we have been thinking about changing states and have been investigating the question: Does temperature affect the rate of melting? She took it upon herself to use a thesaurus to research a bank of vocabulary that she could use in her write up so as she did not repeat herself and to ensure her word choices were appropriate! Well done. What a superstar you are!

We are marvellous mathematicians!
Well done and thank you to these superstars for being so kind as to help their friends understand how to compare decimal numbers using the < and > symbols! Your use of mathematical language was excellent. Talking your friends through the method of looking at each place value column in turn, and helping them to remember which symbol is which, enabled them to compare the decimal numbers accurately. Thank you and I hope you are proud of yourselves!
Let’s keep being kind to each other and working collaboratively so that together, we can make as much progress as possible before you become Year 5’s!
