https://www.getepic.com/app/read/56469

We are writing a letter to Adika to find out about life in Kenya and to tell him about our life in the UK.

You will plan your ideas today and use the plan to help you write your letter on Thursday.

Have a look at the example letter first. Then have a look at how to plan your writing afterwards.

YEAR 1 EXAMPLE

Dear Adika,

I am Miss Topliss and I am 6 years old. I live in a house and my bedroom is green. I walk to school in a morning with my mummy. My favourite lesson is Maths. After school I like to dance.

What is your bedroom like? I would like to know if you have any pets. What do you like to play at playtime when you go to school? Do you do any clubs after school?

Write back soon

Love from Miss Topliss xxx

YEAR 2 EXAMPLE

Dear Adika,

My name is Miss Topliss. I live in England. I have read your story and I wanted to tell you about my life too. I live in a town called Doncaster. There are lots of houses in the town and they are close together. I drive to school in the morning in my car and the roads are very busy because so many people have cars. I read that after school you like to play football. What is your team called?

I know that where you live is different to where I live. I read that you live in a village. What does your house look like? What does your classroom look like? I wonder if it is like mine? Mine has lots of tables and chairs and a board. Can you tell me about the games that you play at play time? After school I like to read my reading book. What things do you like to do when school and football are over?

I am excited for you to write back and tell me all about yourself.

Love from Miss Topliss xxx

Now have a go at writing your plan

Here is an example plan
