How has our community grown?

Today we have been investigating how are community is made up and how it has changed over the years. We have used our maths skills to create a tally to record our countries of origin. We have discovered that intake has become more diverse and people from all over the world have migrated here.

Where do your family originate from? How far have they travelled?

Plover postcard

Today’s postcard goes to Sumit. Sumit has been very mature and responsible today. He has made sensible choices and seeked out adults when he needed help.

Well done Sumit!

Wonderful home learning keeps coming in!

Yet again, I was blown away by the fantastic effort that has gone into producing home learning.

This week, Morris shared with us his Viking house that has taken so much time to produce.

It has real pebble paths and camp fires outside the door, as well as a natural roof.

Great imagination but also great use of your historical knowledge Morris. Well done!

Pride of Plover

A hard decision to make this week because everyone has been working so hard and been so engaged in their learning but this weeks Pride of Plover winner is…Jerzie!

Jerzie has had a great week and shown wonderful concentration in all our sessions and been working well independently and collaboratively. Keep it up Jerzie, well done!

I wonder who our winner will be next week?

Little Amal

3LS have enjoyed delving further into our expedition and learning why people come to Doncaster today. We have been learning about the plight and challenges faced by migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

Today children have been following the travels of ‘Little Amal’, a 12ft puppet who has been on a journey of almost 5000 miles from the Syrian/Turkish border.

Another well-deserved postcard

Today’s postcard goes to Kiara. Kiara consistently does her best and really is capable of amazing things. Not content with completing her own learning beautifully, she’s always quick to support and coach others. Well done Kiara!
