Poppy appeal

Good Evening KS1,

Just a reminder tomorrow is Remembrance Day 🙌🏼 we will pay our respects to the veterans who fought and lost their lives during the war. We will also learn and create some Remembrance art.

If your child would like a poppy, contributions to the poppy appeal would be kindly appreciated, please bring it to school tomorrow. 🌺

Lest we forget! 💭

Key Stage One superstars have had a brilliant evening. We loved seeing you all enjoying yourselves, laughing and filling your tummies with lots of tasty treats! 🙂

Films, arts & crafts with pizza, popcorn, juice and chocolate biscuits with melted marshmallows (who needs the cinema)!

Once again, thank you to all the parents for your contributions and continued support.

We hope you all enjoyed the fireworks when you got home (or music to block out the bang, crackle and booms), stay warm and stay safe!

See you all in the morning Crew.

KS1 teachers 🙂

Film Night Tomorrow 5th November

Morning all KS1 parents 🙂

Just a reminder that Film Night will go ahead tomorrow after school straight after the Phonics boosters.

(Phonics boosters 3pm-3.30pm then Film night 3.30pm-5pm)

Please can all contributions (£2.50) be paid to your class teachers by the end of play today.

Children will get to watch a film, make some bonfire crafts and tasty treats! As there will be a special bonfire menu at lunch time (hot dogs), we will now provide margherita pizza along with popcorn and juice.

We are all looking forward to it 🙂

Thanks

KS1 Crew

Check in

Good evening 1M Superstars,

I hope you and your grown ups are all safe and well.

It has been quite a ‘different’ half term… but I hope you have all managed to have some quality family time and enjoyed some safe, but spooky halloween activities.

I have missed you all so much and can’t wait to see you all tomorrow morning 🙂 thankfully, I am feeling a lot better. Shout out to my Crew and Mrs Cowards Crew for the lovely video message they sent me whilst I was off- it definitely lifted my spirits! 🙂

Another appreciation to Mr Pickering, Mrs Coward, the KS1 staff crew and all KS1 children (and grown ups) for your fantastic efforts and work during home learning!

Remember to stay safe and follow government and school guidelines when coming into and leaving school.

We have a fab day in store tomorrow with the Dinosaur Expert coming in to do Dinostar workshops with us all day! 😀

Enjoy your evening 🌟

Dinosaur Workshop KS1

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow we have a dinosaur expert coming to visit us.  I’m sure your children will really enjoy taking part in the sessions.

As we were in isolation the week before half term I am aware that we have not reminded you about paying for the event.  Could I therefore ask that if you haven’t made your contribution yet, could you please do so as soon as possible.

Many thanks, looking forward to see you all tomorrow.

Fantastic Friday Learning

Great to see so many of you have continued learning up to the last day of term, even in isolation.

Paul got very creative after reading Dinosaurs Love Underpants, he made his own dinosaur underpants. How fab do they look 🙂

Looking proud Paul, what an achievement

Lots of fun was had by being creative with 2D and 3D shapes

Ellis had fun getting ready for Halloween
Ellis used Google Draw to illustrate his rhyme
Peyton used Google Draw to create 2D shape pumpkins
Lena got creative
Brooke used a cylinder to create a bat

It has been fabulous to see such a variety of learning taking place. I would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to our pupils for being amazing and still learning while at home. I would also like to to say ‘Thank You’ to our parents, I have loved receiving your emails and seeing how much you have supported your child’s learning. Finally thanks to Mr Pickering for making the online lessons happen. I hope you now all have a restful half term break.

Mrs Coward

Almost Half Term!

Good morning Key Stage 1!

A rather long blog this morning so please stay with me! Today is the last day of a long half term and then you all get a much deserved break. I think we are ready for it!

There are still live lessons for English and Maths today and then there is a quiz for expedition to see how much you have learnt about animal classifications this week. Unfortunately, Mrs Coward won’t be available for live lessons again today but you can use the links below to access your learning.

*Please note, if you are in class 1/2C or 1M, there will not be a live Maths lesson today because 2P are doing a different topic to you. There is a link to your independent maths learning below.*

Here are the links for the google classroom. You may need your school email to login. Remember to click on each task and then on the document that has been attached. After you have done your learning, simply click on ‘hand in’. Try to come to the live lessons if you can, it will make all of the resources make much more sense.

Here is the link for the Expedition Online Learning today. This is a quiz to see how much you have managed to learn about animal classifications this week. It is so easy to understand that it doesn’t really need  live lesson to explain it. You can do this at any time today.

As it is the end of the week, I thought I would add an extra story for you to enjoy here:

And finally, I thought you might enjoy an idea for a simple game that will allow you to be a bit more active whilst we are stuck in our houses:

Please try to complete and send in your work.  If there are any problems, please contact me or the school office.

Have a great day and enjoy your week off!

More beautiful work from KS1

It’s been another great day for home learning.  I have been particularly impressed with the 2D dinosaurs created.  Some children used Google Draw, some created their own artwork using 2D shapes and others used 2D objects found at home.

Great work everyone
