What problem?

Well done to all of Year 2 for their brilliant Maths work yesterday. They used what they had learnt about grouping and sharing division and used this to solve word problems with bar models. Brilliant work everyone! A special shout out to Talliah, Tim, Morris, Yad, Julita and Jasmine who really showed great understanding when demonstrating how they knew their answers. You all win today’s Praise Postcard.

I would also like to give Shayen another shout out for upcycling an old plastic bottle to turn it into an awesome new planter. He used his knowledge of the properties of different materials to choose the best equipment tp use. Great learning Shayen!

Shout Out to Ellis

Look at Ellis’ London Eye.

I am so impressed to see that he is using power tools – obviously under adult supervision.  Great work Ellis.  You can see how hard he is concentrating – what a super final product.

Both in school and at home we have enjoyed learning more about products of materials.  The children loved having a scavenger hunt and then sorting materials not as much fun putting things away at the end though 🙂

Great to see you all enjoying your learning 🙂

Great Maths

We have been working hard to understand division as sharing and grouping during our Maths sessions and this is some of the great work that I have been sent. A massive well done to Tommy and Shayen for so clearly demonstrating their understanding. Tommy, you get today’s virtual Plover Praise Postcard. Great work!

I would also like to give a massive shout out to Johnny who has made this amazing London Eye model. It has been constructed to allow for it to rotate so that it has moving parts. Superb engineering Johnny!

Have a great day.

Pride of Plover and End of Week Appreciations

The Crew in KS1 are doing a happy dance … again!

Firstly, thank you all for coming in with jokes and dressed in funny, silly or bright clothes today.    It brightened up the day and gave us all a good laugh.  Next week, we will have classroom games (usual school uniform to be worn).

The Crew in KS1 continue to be impressed with their fabulous pupils.  We have so many who continually work hard from home each day, completing all work set to a great standard.  Many then go on to complete additional tasks.  Again, another huge shout out to parents it’s great to see so many of you on line each day.

We also need to give a shout out to each and every child in school who are fully embracing their learning.

YOU ARE ALL ABSOLUTE SUPERSTARS.

This weeks Pride of Plover stars in KS1 are

Rahand – 1M.  Rahand has worked so hard in all lessons – it has also been great to see him joining in lots of games at playtimes.  Great work Rahand.

Darwin -2P  Darwin always works hard at school but currently he is working remotely, he is attending all lessons where he joins in discussions and completes all work set.  The really amazing part to this is that Darwin is currently working from a different country – that shows true dedication to learning.

Viktoria –  1/2C I have been so impressed with how Viktoria has grown in confidence over the last couple of weeks.  She has really shone during class discussions!

The crew in KS1 are so proud of you all.  We love having the opportunity to teach you all.

Have a great weekend – Don’t forget it’s teacher training day on Friday 12th and then it’s half term where you all get a well deserved rest.

Children’s Mental Health

It has been children’s mental health week this week and it has been nice to dedicate even more time to share and spread awareness about the importance of self-care and self-well being!

It is the end of a week… but it isn’t the end of mental health, if anything this should be the start! Be kind, be positive, be happy… and it is ok to not feel ok… but we want you all to know we are here for you and talking about it will help! 🙂

Happy minds.

Thank you for all of the learning that you keep sending in to me. I might sound like a stuck record but the quality of your work really does blow me away.

I would like to give today’s virtual Plover Praise Postcard to Scarlett who keeps sharing the highest quality learning. Take a look at her amazing, Science, Wellbeing and English interview below:

I would also like to give a shout out to Lexi and Shayen for their excellent learning. Shayen has produced some string art in the style of a burning London building, which is a very clever idea. Lexi has continued to work really hard on developing her English skills as well. Keep it going!
