Armthorpe Miners Memorial Garden

Mr Meade and Mrs Price took five Y1 and five reception children to learn a bit about Armthorpe’s mining history! Our children have also planted a time capsule of their beautiful expedition work, which will be re-opened in 5 years time! This was a beautiful experience which links very closely to both EYFS and KS1’s current expeditions.

Thank you grown ups for your cooperation as always! #LovePlover

Avianna the Artist – Home Learning

Following yesterday’s culture day, Avianna brought in this brilliant drawing of the tallest mountains in Nepal, which is her families native country.

I praise how Avianna has used different techniques of shading to add detail to her drawing – 10 crew coins! #LovePlover

Fabulous family learning!

Thank-you 2B and all supporting adults for this afternoon! We have been busy it feels like we’ve been all over the world trying different traditional foods, clothes and dances! Massive shoutout to parents for getting involved and sharing their culture and religion with us – it’s important to us because it makes up a huge part of your belonging so I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate that with you all today.

Special shoutout to all the parents who cooked/baked and bought in food – it was delicious!!! And also thank-you to Aseel’s Mum and Dad for helping all the children in KS1 with henna tattoos and dressing the adults in the traditional Sudanese dress called galabeya!

KS1 Art/RE drop down day

Good morning KS1

We look forward to celebrating our cultural day today and inviting grown ups in for our family session at 1.30pm this afternoon (please sign in at the main reception).

If you have made some food for children to taste, please bring it in at the start of school or parents can bring it in the afternoon.

We look forward to our parent experts who will help us with a little bit of cooking, dancing and cultural fashion! If you all come for 1.15pm to set up please, that’d be fab!

See you all soon!

Ice Cream Treat

On Friday afternoon last week, the Y1 children enjoyed a little treat for working hard in their phonics screenings. I can’t think of a better way to end the first week, than with an ice cream in the sun! Thanks Darren from King Whippy 🙂 #LovePlover
