Thursday’s learning

Good morning. The sun is shining brightly again although there is a chill in the air at the moment. I wonder if you could play a game today? Maybe you could play a board game.

Play the game on New Phonics Play

Phase 2 for children working on pink reading books
Phase 3 for children working on red reading books
Phase 4 for children working on yellow reading books, move onto phase 5 if they can complete phase 4.

This week’s focus for maths is learning about money, today focusing on giving change.

“I have 10 pence. This costs ___p. Ten minus ___ is equal to. I have ____ pence change.”
Pretend to be a shop keeper and a customer.Extend learning by working out what different coins could be used to give change.

Create the Easter story. Make a book or poster. Write the sentences to match. There are writing sheets that can be downloaded on Twinkl.

Help from Miss Telford

Miss Telford, one of our parents has sent us some advice on how to send pictures and observations using Evidence Me. This is what she needed to do.

1. Do not try to send pictures via email (this only gets sent to the Evidence Me team).
2. Go to Apps store, search Evidence Me (2 Simple).
3. Select upload to phone.
Through the app you are able take photos as well as select photos already on your phone. Messages about what your child is doing can also be sent to the teacher.

Try this clip from YouTube

Hope that helps and thank you to Miss Telford

A day in the life of Ellis

Ellis has been completing his phonics on his tablet, his maths by making a shop, playing games, writing a diary, getting lots of exercise and fresh air. We are very proud of your learning Ellis, especially your Easter garden.

Update from Evidence Me

This is what they have suggested.

  1. Check your user permissions in settings. Under privacy check that the permissions for camera/photos is turned on.

2. If you are using a Samsung device try downloading Google Chrome APP as this will speed up the processing.

3. If using Microsoft Edge try using Google Chrome too especially if when you try uploading photos the circle keeps going round and round.

4. If you are still having difficulties you can contact them directly

Email: [email protected]

Telephone: 0161 883 2332 (press option 1)

They are happy for you to send them screenshots etc.

Hope that helps with sending photos. You can add comments anyway without the photos.

Evidence me

Thank you for all the observations we have received. However, there are some children that we haven’t received any learning from. We are using the observations as part of our check in log. We will be phoning families at the end of the week if we have concerns.

Remember to send us observations – photos, videos or just notes

Thank you

Mrs Price

What has happened today

There have been lots of reading observations today.

Well done to Mia who read several books, I particularly enjoyed watching the video of Mia reading her book. Lena has also been practising her phonics to help her sound out words.

Lots of physical activity – children joining in with PE this morning, adding on the trampoline, doing exercises.

I am looking forward to seeing your learning tomorrow.

Tuesday’s learning

Good morning. Thank you for all your home learning and observations yesterday. There are lots of other ideas on the Gruffalo learning sheet we blogged the other day.
