I praise how well Ivanna and Alec worked together to make the most amazing camper van this afternoon! They paid great attention to detail, even making a roof that can come off when it’s sunny.

Paper chains
Today we learnt how to make repeating patterns. We then made some paper chains using repeating patterns, ready to decorate our classroom for our party on Friday.

Being kind
Zara was extremely kind to others today and asked them to play, taking equipment to them. Miss Clark gave Zara the postcard. Zara stood in-front of the other children even though she was nervous.

Well done Zara. We are so proud of you.

Making paper chains
We worked hard to use our fine motor skills today so that we could make paper chains. These are going to be decorations for our party on Friday.

CAKE
To start off our hook week, the children have enjoyed making a collage of the front cover of our new story “CAKE”. We also enjoyed eating some cake ourselves to celebrate one of our friends 5th birthday.

Cake!
We have had lots of conversations today about cake. We read a story about cake, predicting what would happen. We created a cake by painting, cutting and sticking. Some children created a cake in playdough and sang happy birthday.

We are looking forward to eating cake on Friday at our party.

What’s in the birthday box?
We had lots of good predictions about what was in the box. Someone thought it might be a present. Someone else thought it might be a toy that would pop up. We shared our ideas with our friends.

We opened the box and there were lots of things for us to use at our party on Friday.

How far can a car go?
There was some amazing team work today. The boys worked together to build a multi-storey car park. They experimented with ways to make a ramp and investigated how far the cars could go. It was wonderful to listen to the conversations and to see how ideas were explored. Well done boys.

First week
Wow what an amazing first week we have had! All our reception children have settled in amazingly and have enjoyed exploring the provision. I’m already so excited to see you all again next week.
If you haven’t already, please remember to send me a photo of your child celebrating their birthday. If all parents could kindly provide wellies and waterproofs to keep in school as well.
Thank you, Miss Wood.

Another fantastic first day
It was the second group of children in F2 who were in school today. Here are some photos of our learning today.
A shout out to Mia today. She worked very hard in all her learning. She made cards for people, listened very carefully on the carpet and was very kind.
Also to Kobin who checked that the ipads were all returned safely.
Well done everyone.
