Making dogs with shapes

Our postcard went to Harper today for concentrating on using shapes to draw pictures. She shared her ideas and created a fantastic picture.

Well done Harper.

Lots of fun

We had lots of fun today exploring colour mixing by throwing paint onto wet paper. The children created firework pictures.

We also talked about Bonfire night and what we might see, do, smell and hear. It reminded us of the festivals that other people celebrate.

Showing care

Our Pride of Plover today went to Isla. She has been a superstar helping and caring for other children. She has really impressed me with how she is looking out for the needs and feelings of others.

Well done Isla.

Bonfire night

Happy bonfire night!

Today we have learnt the story behind bonfire night and how to be safe around fireworks. We then enjoyed making our own firework rockets.

Pride of Plover

Well done to Nevaeh who got our yellow T-shirt today! Nevaeh has had a super attitude to learning this week, trying hard with her learning and helping her peers. Keep it up Nevaeh!

Shout out’s also to Chase and Lita who have persevered with tasks they have found tricky this week.

Happy Diwali

We celebrated Diwali today by lighting our candles in our Divas, listening to Lighting a lamp, dressing up and dancing.

Happy Diwali!

To celebrate Diwali today, we lit the Diya lamps that we made before half term and read a story called “lighting a lamp”. The children enjoyed comparing similarities and differences of Diwali to Bonfire night with the fireworks and lights.

Fireworks

As day is Diwali and tomorrow is bonfire night, we decided to make some firework pictures to celebrate. The children enjoyed making patterns with glue which they then pressed down in to the glitter.

We care Wednesday

Today in crew we discussed the effects of global warming linking to COP26 and decided how we can make the world we live in a better place. We made a pledge to pick up litter so that it does not end up in the sea and discussed the impact of recycling. The children then thought about the birds flying in our toxicated air and decided they wanted to make a bird house to help protect them.

We decided that we would make a birds house to go in our school playground but first, we designed what we would want it to look like.
