The Gingerbread Man

For our phonics, literacy and maths on Wednesday please can you read the poem and talk about the letter sounds as previously mentioned from jolly phonics, s, a, t, p and n. Listen to the Jolly Phonics song for i on you tube.

Find objects in your house that begin with i.

If you don’t have a dice, any small box can be used to draw dots on. Please share your pictures of the Gingerbread Man on Evidence Me.

          Thank you Riley and Ruben!

Evidence me

Thank you for all the observations we have received. However, there are some children that we haven’t received any learning from. We are using the observations as part of our check in log. We will be phoning families at the end of the week if we have concerns.

Remember to send us observations – photos, videos or just notes

Thank you

Mrs Price

What has happened today

There have been lots of reading observations today.

Well done to Mia who read several books, I particularly enjoyed watching the video of Mia reading her book. Lena has also been practising her phonics to help her sound out words.

Lots of physical activity – children joining in with PE this morning, adding on the trampoline, doing exercises.

I am looking forward to seeing your learning tomorrow.

Wonderful home learning and a kind message!

Our children have done some wonderful  name writing, matching numbers to the correct amount and building tallest towers!   These are all excellent ideas to try at home with your  child! Samuel has also sent a very kind message to all of his friends at home.

Tuesday’s learning

Good morning. Thank you for all your home learning and observations yesterday. There are lots of other ideas on the Gruffalo learning sheet we blogged the other day.

Today’s learning

Sing 5 current buns in the bakers shop or another song related to money

Recap how many pennies each coin is worth.

Set up a pretend shop and label with values up to 10p. Children can pretend to buy the objects using coins. Extend to buying 2 or 3 objects and adding the amounts together.
___p + ___p = ___p

Children to sequence the events of the Easter story. They can draw the story, make characters, or say the story.
The Easter story sequencing cards – shortened version could be useful. See the link below.

Phase 4 for children working on yellow reading books, move onto phase 5 if they can complete phase 4.

This week’s phonics.

For our phonics this week can you collect objects and sort them into groups according to their initial letter sound?

Our letter sounds which we a have covered so far are s, a,  t , p , and n. We have listened to the jolly phonics songs for these letters which can be found on you tube. Jolly Phonics Songs.

We also like to watch Geraldine the Giraffe on you tube. Each letter sound has a different clip. Here is the clip for ‘s’.

We have blended phonemes together to sound out words , s, a, t and blended to sat. Thank you.

Does your child recognise logos which may be on packaging in your home?

If you write their name and another word on separate pieces of paper, Can they recognise their name?

Can you have 5 pennies and 5 objects to use as your current buns? You can listen to the song here.

5 current buns in the baker’s shop.

On Tuesday!
