And the winner is…

This week’s Pride of Plover winner is… Esther S – well done!

I could have written a personal blog about Esther all week with the amazing learning and research she has been doing and sharing with me. I have attached some images below. Well done Esther, this is WELL deserved!

Capacity

Lots of you have been practising pouring and measuring. You have used words relating to capacity too.

A big shout out to Roman for amazing reading. What progress you have made. Well done.

Amazing learning.

Year 3, you have blown me away again with your enthusiasm to learning today. I have seen a lot more Tudor Roses appearing. Lauma did a great one. We have also had some excellent comprehension work from almost everyone who logged – it would take too long to name everyone!

There have been other great examples of independent learning on the new expedition. Shyaw and Esther did an exceptional job at the Tudor alphabet challenge. This was a really tricky challenge but you can see the research that went into it. As part of this, Esther made a discovery about the Nursery rhyme ‘Sing a song of Sixpence’. Look at what she discovered:

I look forward to seeing what new learning you all do tomorrow. Mrs Lewis is back in the classroom tomorrow so she can see all of the amazing things you have been doing.

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe.

Maddison, Lucas and Lewis have been developing new skills this afternoon, learning how to animate a short film using stop-frame animation – the same technique used to make the Wallace and Gromit films!

I think you will agree that their first attempt is pretty impressive!

Another busy day.

Well done Year 3, you have all been so busy today! It has been great to see what you have been doing in your learning.

Cole, Alfie, Lauma and Shena did some excellent comprehension work from the first chapter of our new class texts.

Shyaw and Bradley did some excellent work on time in Maths. Keep it up!

Nikita, Lauma and Esther also did some excellent research for our new expedition and discovered what a Tudor Rose is. They then produced these excellent pictures of their own:

Keep up the enthusiasm and hard work!

See you all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Plover Art

While we’ve all been away from school the Plover Artists have been keeping their creative skills busy by drawing, painting, making collages and models, colouring and creating digital art!

We’ve been working in our Google Classroom Art Rooms; linking our art to the weather, chocolate packaging, and the Tudors.

We’ve celebrated Vincent Van Gogh’s birthday by recreating some of his work with different materials, while looking at his style.

Our Art Studio, which is open to everyone to share their own artistic interests, has had lots of contributions, and some fun challenges have been set. We’ve been drawing our favourite cartoon characters, creating art to represent our favourite games, and we’ve been challenged to get the whole family involved, and create some collaborative art.

It’s easy to join in:

~ go to your Google Classroom Art Room, to find assignments linked to your theme. This is like our P.Block art lessons. You get pictures to work from, you can share your work for critique, and you can get help, advice and feedback. Don’t worry if you don’t have lots of art materials at home, you can use whatever you have!

~ go to the Google Classroom Art Studio to share your own artwork, and join in fun challenges. This is where you can share any art that you’re creating at home; whatever you’re interested in! There are ‘just for fun’ challenges, if you’re stuck for ideas.

If you’re not sure what to do, let me know and I’ll do my best to help!

Enjoy being creative…

Ms Foster 🙂

“Now, it’s time for the gallery…”

F2P and F2S Pride of Plover winners

Congratulations to Mia for winning Pride of Plover for F2P this week. She has done some amazing learning as well as sharing about how she celebrates Easter.

Well done Mia.

Congratulations to Lena Osip for winning Pride of Plover for F2S this week. She has done some amazing learning particularly in reading and maths.

Thursday 16th April

Good Morning!

I now have access to your art classrooms Mrs Foster has set up, so had a lovely time looking at the drawings and art you have been doing.

You have been creative these last few weeks. Lola made a lovely Easter Egg scene and Bethannie has been creative.

Only two days left of the Easter Egg Hunt. I wonder who will win the prize?

Keep filling in the feelings check and take care.

Mrs Graves
