So proud of all of these children, who in addition to booster sessions, are completing extended study at home. Their hard work outside of the classroom is definitely having a positive impact inside the classroom! Awesome examples of 4’s for getting smart!
These superstars impressed their fellow crews last week and were awarded the Pride of Plover in our community crew meeting. They have all been ‘working hard, getting smart and being kind’. So proud of you all 💙
We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March.
It would be lovely to see the children dressed up as their favourite book character, but please don’t feel like you have to rush out and buy a costume!
£1 Book Vouchers will be given to children on the day which can be spent in most supermarkets and book shops, but we do also have a Book Fayre coming into school the following week, and children can put their voucher towards the cost of a book at that event – more details to follow soon.
Today in crew we have launched the Danum Read Aloud competition to our children in KS2 (Year 3,4,5 and 6).
The theme this year is book openings. Children can select their favourite from the selection of extract to perform for their crew. Winners will then go into the KS2 semi-final and winners from that will progress into the school final, held on Thursday 7th March – World Book Day.
One overall winner from our school final will be entered into the Doncaster final held at the Danum Museum and Art Gallery on 27th March.
I had the privilege of teaching Year 5 today all about Islam along with the help of our experts: Shayen, Darwin, Yad, Ara and Tim! Year 5 learnt so much and produced the most beautiful cards with information all about Islam!
