Colour fun run! 🎨

Year 4 had a brilliant time doing their colour fun run. Well done to all of the children who contributed and especially those who raised money from their sponsorships. What a colourful end to the day!

Year 3 and 4 Field Trip next week

Just a reminder that Year 4 are visiting the Danum Museum and Art Gallery on Tuesday 5th September to take part in a Roman Workshop and will be taking part in a Roman Experience Workshop in school on Friday 8th September.

Year 3 are taking part in the Roman Experience workshop IN SCHOOL on Thursday 7th September and will be visiting the Danum Museum and Art Gallery to take part in a Roman Workshop on Friday 8th September.

The cost for both activities is Ā£14.

Unfortunately, we are unable to fund the activities as a school, and if we do not have enough payments we will have to cancel the trip.

Please speak to your class teacher or Mrs Graves asap if there are any difficulties with this payment, as we would like every child to be able to go on the trip.

Year 4 PE

Year 4 will be doing PE every Tuesday. Children can come to school in their PE kits, as we want to ensure the maximum amount of time possible taking part in the lesson.

LKS2 Roman Hook Week

On Monday 4th September, LKS2 will be having their Roman Quest Day to launch the new expedition. Children are invited to come to school dressed as a Roman (or a Celt) to help immerse into the day.

On Wednesday 6th September, we would love our families to join us in the afternoon at 2pm for our Family Learning as we find out more about our school community and complete a giant collaborative piece of artwork.

We are 4H!

Boom…and just like that we are back to our old tricks! Having fun, building new relationships, finding out about each other and creating a positive, growth mindset for the challenges we will face together during our new school year!

Hereā€™s some snap shots from todayā€¦

Affirmation posters:

Blind Artist Challenge:

Multi hoop multiplication challenge:

The human knot that we tried wasā€¦interesting but we untangled ourselves in the end when we started listening to each other with more care!

Finally, we made statements about ourselves which all linked to someone else in our class. Now we know we all have something in common with at least one other person in our room.

Well done 4H, a busy, tiring but amazing first day back. I cannot wait for tomorrowā€™s trip to Austerfield!

Welcome back Year 4!

Just a polite reminder that Wednesday 30th August is Year 4’s first school trip to Austerfield. Children will need to bring a packed lunch and come in normal school uniform with appropriate outdoor footwear. Please remember a coat too with the weather being so unpredictable at the moment! Children will be completing a variety of fun, team building activities for our crew week. Drop off and pick up times will be as normal. Please could letters be returned on the first day back (Tuesday 29th August) if they haven’t been already. We will ensure spares are ready Tuesday morning for any of you may require another.

Because our school visit is on Wednesday, the Year 4 pupils will be doing their colour fun run paint event on Thursday afternoon instead. In mind of this, children in Year 4 can come to school on Thursday in (old) white t-shirts or light coloured clothing that they do not mind getting covered in powder paint. It costs Ā£2.50 to take part and money raised goes towards a special Christmas treat for them AND the top fundraiser in each phase will also win a cute prize!

We look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow – we can’t wait to build some new relationships and tackle new challenges!
