Do you want to learn how to play the saxophone? A fantastic FREE opportunity for four of our year 5 & 6 pupils

Year 5 & 6 were so fortunate to have a demonstration by one of the members of the Dyja band who came to play the saxophone for them. They are so lucky that this lovely gentlemen is offering FOUR free places to learn this instrument during their time at Plover with the possibility of extending this opportunity beyond their primary school years.

To play such a beautiful instrument would require a lot of dedication so we are asking that children really think about this amazing opportunity and if they are interested, hand their signed letters back to their class teacher on Monday.

How amazing would it be to learn such an amazing new skill!

Literacy Kicks Journalist Workshop

Thank you to Gareth from #LiteracyKicks #SportingHeritage #WomenInRugbyLeague for leading a Rugby League journalism workshop with our Y5/6 children! The children were immersed in the rise of women’s rugby league, due to the Hall of Fame 1996 Lionesses team! We were lucky to have Jill Adam a local inspirational role model who was an integral part of that team! The children wrote some awesome articles! #LovePlover

Demonstrating the character trait courage!

These superstars have all demonstrated courage this week. Some children have been courageous and stood at the front of the class to show their working out to some of our tricky maths questions, some children have shown courage and took on the lead role in our arithmetic coaching lesson and one child was very courageous and used his voice to remind his friends they were making the wrong choices.

“Courage is the main quality of leadership, in my opinion no matter where it is exercised” — Walt Disney

Year 5&6 super spellers! Fantastic home learning!

So proud of these superstars who have been working hard at home on their spellings. What a fantastic example of craftsmanship and quality- continuing to practise until knowledge is secured! Well done! 10 crew coins for ‘getting smart’.

The rain didn’t stop 5S being active!

This morning’s awful weather threatened to stop our P.E. plans, but we weren’t deterred – instead, we became active in the classroom with some games and practicing mindfulness and flexibility with a yoga session.

Matilda Club

In the Spring and Summer term, we would like to hold a ‘Matilda’ drama club.  This will be open to all of Key Stage Two (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) and held after school on a Thursday. The club will consist of a range of musical theatre skills such as; singing, dancing and acting, with the end goal of putting together a production of Matilda the musical.

If your child is interested in a place in this club, please return the letter given out by your class teacher before Friday 10th October.
