3SG had great fun working in groups to create their own Haka (a ceremonial dance of the Maori people) as part of our dance module in PE.
It was great to see your ideas and scary faces!

Today, we conducted a scientific experiment to see what sides of the magnet attract and repel each other. We also found out that Earth is one big magnet, because there is iron in the middle of Earth.
Shout out to Seb for completing a multiplication square as an extension task in maths today.
Crew Farrow completed some matchstick problem solving problems in motivational Crew today. Well done for grappling, re-arranging the patterns and following the rules.
The new term meant a new PE scheme; the children have started on dance. Today the children had learnt about what the Haka dance was all about. We discussed the use of emotion and expression, levels, and movements that were involved in the dance, before incorporating stance, facial expression, voice and moving towards positions into their own dance with a partner. Year 3 had so much fun with this lesson!

3F have had so much fun this morning in PE. Their new unit is Dance and today they learnt all about the Haka and where it originated from. They then learnt the steps to the Haka, along with practicing their intimidating faces and hand gestures.

Today, 3GS discussed how human activity is causing the destruction of Arctic animal habitats.
We then wrote in our books about how this is caused, and what will happen if animal habitats are not protected.
I was proud of how hard everyone worked and the improvement to handwriting. Well done guys, the practice is paying off!
Today, we learnt how to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number with a remainder. Miss Farrow’s maths class used matchsticks to help them work out the answers.
We are all really excited as we have arrived at Sheffield Arena, in time to start practising before the performance tonight!
