Making things add up!

2P have been working really hard this week to use knowledge of Place Value to begin using the column method of addition. It was amazing to see so much thinking and collaborative problem-solving taking place as they grappled with the method. It was so good that today we’ll make it even harder by regrouping!

KS1 Celebration of Learning!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and celebrate the learning that the children in KeyStage 1 have done during their expedition. The children presented their learning beautifully and revealed the amazing Buddy Benches we raised money for. Seeing so many grown-ups listening to their children as they shared their books and participated in our kindness activities was amazing. A fabulous end to so much hard work!

We would like to give an extra special thank you to Flynn’s Grandad who very kindly made a donation towards the work that we have done. Generosity of this nature is overwhelming and massively appreciated!

Well done everybody!

British Values

In Crew today, we have learnt about British values and how to live them daily. We practised signing some of the keywords we think of when talking about British Values and then made posters to remind us of them.

How can I be a hero to my friends?

Last week, we learnt all about Bullying and what that means. We also discussed online safety and what we can do to support other children who might be lonely.

This week, we have decided to showcase everything that we had learnt and make an instructional video on what other children could do in the scenarios we discussed previously. The children had lots of fun showing off their drama skills. They also answer our guiding question “How can I be a hero to my friends?” and reflect on some of the key vocabulary we have been learning about.

Wonderful Writing

We finished our we are wonder’s final write yesterday and sang happy birthday to Mrs Jobber. A big thank you KS1 for your generous Xmas hamper donations! #LovePlover

1/2K – Week 3

What we got up to last week:

In PE we have been continuing to work on our team work skills. The children were split into small groups and had the task of getting across the playground using only two skipping ropes without falling off. They were amazing!

In Maths we have been looking at subtraction. We looked at this in a variety of different ways.

Kindness Week: We have loved all of our kindness week activities as part of our new case study! We have made kindness badges (with the help of our lovely Year 6 students) to remind everyone to be kind. We talked about the importance of friendships and what it takes to be a good friend! We had a very special visit from some nurses for our Safe Touch talk. We discussed the importance of positive relationships, what they look like and the importance of trusted adults.
