3B were lucky to have a little BSL lesson from members of our deaf community at Plover school. Rahoz, Zuzanna and Joe all helped the class learn some key BLS sign, including the alphabet. The kids did a great job of matching the sign to the letter and learnt how to finger sign different words. Everyone has been set a challenge to learn how to sign their name which will be checked in 2 weeks. I wonder if everyone can do it?

We have been using the skills that we have been building up recently to sketch a portrait of our key artist: Henry Moore. Our skills of observation and proportion have improved dramatically and I cannot wait to see the finished portraits later this week!
Keep looking carefully and working hard everyone. Your artwork is fabulous!

Dictionary use has been a challenge to say the least! However, with regular practise, and a little bit of healthy competition, we are now becoming so much quicker at finding our key Speedy Reading words!
Well done 3H, you’re working so hard!

We have been thinking really carefully about what makes a good friend during our We Care Wednesday Crew sessions. We have thought about friendships such as Shrek and Donkey; R2D2 and C3PO; and Woody and Buzz. We considered how we knew that they were friends and what they would do if they ever had a falling out. Then we thought about our own friendships and how we could react or respond to our friends if we ever fall out.
Well done everyone, let’s look after each other and do all we can to support and care for each other.

Well done to our 10 Y3/4 who participated in a Netball competition this week at Laurel Academy against 7 other schools. A great experience for them all and a big shout out to Avianna, who was identified by the sports organisers as a key player in the whole tournament! #LovePlover

To commemorate Remembrance Day, the children all helped create a poppy wreath. They also designed a centrepiece to be used for the wreath placed on the cenotaph in town on Sunday.

It was with great pride that we had the opportunity to represent Plover School today at the Doncaster Remembrance Sunday Parade at the Cenotaph on Bennetthorpe.
Paisley and Anwyn carried the wreath, with the centre piece incorporating LKS2 children’s images, and placed it on the cenotaph, to complete the ceremony.
It meant so much to see many of the Armed Forces, both past and present, there and really made us think about our LKS2 expedition, ‘Lest We Forget; How does war change lives?”
Hopefully, this will become an annual event for Plover.

Key Stage 2 had so much fun at the neon disco last night! They certainly know how to dance.
We look forward to welcoming Boggledybook Children’s Book shop into school next Thursday. A great opportunity to buy great value children’s books at £1, £2 and £3. Children can bring money into school and will visit the book shop throughout the day.
