Critiquing our posters in 3H

Everyone has worked so well today, discussing the positive parts that we ‘noticed’ and ‘praised’ about our anti-littering posters. Some superb advice was given in a kind and supportive way using the words, ‘I wonder if you could…’ when improvements could be made. I hope everyone is proud of their final products now that they have improved their first drafts. I praise how well every one responded to the advice they were given!

Anti-littering Activism in 3H

3H have spent time looking at a range of different anti-littering posters today. They critiqued the examples we gave them, pointing out the strong elements as well as areas which could be even better! Then designed their own. Some very thoughtful suggestions were made about why it is so important to make sure we ‘Bin it, don’t drop it!’

Well done guys. You were fab for Miss Wood this morning and worked so hard with me this afternoon too!

Also, I hope you enjoyed the time you spent with the graffiti artist…just look at your finished product! WOWEE! Please, please, please 3H, take your parents, carers and/or other adults who collect you from school around to see the wall you helped to paint. It really is a piece of art to be proud of and you’ll have your mark on the building forever! Imagine when you’re grown up and bringing your own kids to Plover…You could say, “I did that!”

First day back!

3B have had a great first day back at school. Together, we have decided our classroom norms and recapped routines. They have also done some fun activities related to our crew focus this week of an act of service: litter picking.

As well as this, they also had a special visitor and got to have their own go at creating graffiti style artwork on the school wall. I’m sure it’s going to look amazing when it’s finished!

Y3 Crew field trip!

We hope you have all had a wonderful summer break!

During our first week back, we would like to take the children in year 3 for an XP outdoors experience to litter pick around the local area in places such as the Intake library park and the Multi-use Games Area (MUGA). Litter picking equipment has kindly been provided by the local council. Not only will this act of service improve the local community area used by many of the children at our school, it  will help us to develop our crew.

The trip will be on Friday 30th August 2024 at 9:15-11am.

There is no cost for this field trip. However, we require the children to have sensible outdoor clothing and footwear.

It would be lovely for as many parents/carers to attend as possible. Please let class teachers know if you are able to support.

A letter should be sent out by the end of the day and we would appreciate it if reply slips could be returned by Thursday 29th August 2024.

Thank you,

Miss Brown and Mrs Haycock

Happy Holidays ☀️

Happy Holidays 1/2K! My last ever K’s; you’ll always have such a special place in my heart. I hope you all have the most wonderful adventures this summer. Take care. ☀️

Chapter One!

Our select group of pupils have enjoyed special tutoring to help them improve their reading throughout the year. This is done on the laptop but they never see their tutor! Our end-of-year celebration allowed the pupils to celebrate their successes and finally meet the person they had been talking to all year! Great reading from everyone!

Silent Disco

2P had a great time celebrating our silent disco. It was a great way to end our expedition and the school year!

YEAR 1/2 – FAITH DAY.

Today we have been learning about a very special person in Buddhism. We shared the story of how Buddhism came to be, the story of Siddhartha Gautama and the journey he went on. After sharing the story and we engaged in a true or false quiz in teams. Here are our champions!

Then we talked about what kind of person he is and used adjectives to describe him. We came up with adjectives like caring, patient, curious, content and wise. We then used our word bank turned them into sentences.

We then followed a guided meditation, just like Buddha did under the Bodhi tree. This was led by a Monk. The children practiced the most popular breathing meditations in the world.
