Christmas Crafts

We’ve started making our Christmas crafts – snowflakes, calendars, cards, baubles, lists and decorations. #LovePlover

Money 💷

This week 1/2K have been recognising coins and notes. We have ordered them from the lowest to the highest values, discussed the materials they are made out of and used an online piggy bank to help us recognise the different coins.

3pm Toy Sale

We still have some toys left from our Christmas Fayre that we are kindly just asking for a small donation for. The money raised will go towards reading for pleasure books for your children and some books for Doncaster children’s hospital. The toys will be available on EYFS playground at home time, from 3pm.
Thank you for all the money raised so far!

KS1 Christmas Show Tickets

We are pleased to announce the release of the KS1 Christmas show tickets.

Due to capacity restrictions, tickets will be limited to two tickets per child. Parents and guardians will be able to choose either the morning or afternoon performance on a first come, first served basis.

Seating at the performances will be strictly limited to approximately 110, so it may not be possible to accommodate performance choices.

Parents and guardians will be able to collect their tickets from the KS1 playground on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th December. Tickets will be available on the playground before and after school.

Measuring in Centimetres

After blowing our socks off in their maths assessments, the children have been learning how to measure in centimetres. They learned how to use a ruler, and what a centimetre is and also helped Tiny the Turtle to correct his mistakes.

Handwriting Competition Winners

Congratulations to everyone who entered the Handwriting competition – you have produced some beautifully presented poems and it was very difficult to judge.

Everyone who entered has earned a prize but the overall winners were:

Come and see me at play time on Monday for your prize.

Measuring Length 📏

In our lesson this week, we’ve been learning how to measure using non-standard units. Our Elfie set us a challenge to measure some of his new sleigh designs to see which one was the longest!

Reading Partners in Phonics

KS1 children are trying so hard in their phonics to develop their speedy reading! Well done Kaya working hard on your reading. #LovePlover
