Tag Rugby Appreciation

Well done to all the children who took part in the RLWC tag rugby tournament at Toll Bar today. They did themselves and the school proud, showing resilience, perseverance and team work!

We didn’t quite win it, but a great experience for us all (even in the rainy weather).

Parent helpers you guys were awesome!

Many more sports tournaments to come.

Please bring sports trainers and/or football boots, WATERPROOFS (the weathers looking miserable), snacks and water bottles. Plover will give all children a sports kit to wear on the day.

We will be leaving Plover at 11.45am and return to Plover between 3.30pm/4pm (traffic depending).

Parent volunteers if you can please meet at reception at 11.40am then we will all set off together in cars.

Thank you all again for your cooperation.

Out of this world Jada!

Jada very kindly spent her weekend making edible home learning for everyone! She and her mum made and decorated space themed biscuits to represent the planets we have learned about.

The moon and jupiter visible

As part of Lily’s home learning, she got her mum to take a picture of the moon with jupiter visible next to it.

Earthsky.org have said – The moon is near Jupiter. On the evenings of October 7 and 8, 2022, the waxing gibbous moon lights the sky near bright Jupiter. Keep an eye on the sky!

The moon landing – real or hoax?

Year 5 had a debate today on whether the moon landing was real or an elaborate hoax. All pupils had their own opinion which they then had to prove with their thoughts and evidence.

Their opinions were very well thought out and they had a surprising amount of evidence as proof.

A few light stretches and a run around the field!

Just to let parents know that Tuesday is PE day for both Year 5 classes. Your child will need black shorts and a white t shirt to get changed into. This is so they are not making their school uniform hot and sweaty! Please make sure your child has a pair of trainers too as while it is nice they will be outside.

P.S. They do follow a curriculum and will not just be running around the field!!

Rugby World Cup Tickets

Good Evening

We have a fantastic opportunity for 10 of our Plover children to be flag bearers and parade around the Eco Power pitch for the opening game of the Rugby League World Cup!

·       The first fixture at the Eco Power Stadium, which will take place on Monday 17th October, France Vs Greece, 7.30pm kick off. This is the game that we plan on celebrating the success of the RLWC2021 Legacy program that our school has been a part of. We are encouraging as many children to attend this fixture with friends, family, parents and school friends. The Flag Parade will take place 30/40 mins before kick off!

·        Parents will be able to pay for tickets on ParentPay for themselves and their children. We are keeping a track on quantities so tickets can be bought together and all the Plover Crew sit together for this amazing experience!

It would be amazing for as many Plover children and families to experience this once in a life time sporting opportunity. We ask that every child attending has a parent/guardian with them. Mr Meade and another member of Plover staff will be there to meet you all.

Any questions email [email protected] or speak to the office! The deadline for tickets is next Friday 16th September! #LovePover
