Can you help?

We all know how important reading is as a life skill and we really want to encourage our children to love reading. We are wanting to increase the opportunities that our children have to be able to read in school BUT we need your help!

Can you spare 30 minutes in a morning to come and volunteer to hear children read? This doesn’t have to be everyday and we can fit around you. This is purely to listen to the children read and to give them that confidence boost with their reading skills.

If you would like to help, please speak to any of the Key Stage 1 class teacher’s to register your interest and tell us when you might be able to help.

Thank you so much!

KS1 Final Product

As part of the expedition, ‘Where will your journey take you?’, the children have produced artwork that has been printed onto our very own tote bags.

These will be available to purchase on the playground tomorrow and Friday for £5.

There is a different design for Year 1 and Year 2.

KS1 children across the trust also produced a beautiful recipe book. This will also be available to purchase for £5.

Graduation Night

On Wednesday lots of our children celebrated their Children’s University Graduation at Doncaster College. The graduates enjoyed lots of fun and treats before donning their caps and gowns and receiving their certificates.

The children behaved in true Plover style and made us all so proud. Thank you to our parent ambassadors for your continued support.

Well done Graduates of 2023!

Beautiful Handwriting in 3GS

Today the new 3GS have shown great focus and amazing presentation in their handwriting session. Children worked hard to improve their own writing and critiqued friends to help them improve too.

We’re very proud of you all and with presentation like this, we can’t wait to see your beautiful books in September.

Well done 3GS!

Graduation Day

The Children’s University graduation is tomorrow 5-7pm. There’s ample parking (costs 80p on the Ringo app or by phone). Children do not need to wear uniform but may.

For children or adults who like to know what will happen, here’s a breakdown:

  • Arrive at the main college entrance and sign in with your invitations.
  • Spend a short time downstairs in the lobby, free activities available.
  • As a group we will go upstairs (lifts are available on request).
  • Children go with Mrs Shuka, adults go to be seated.
  • Graduation ceremony
  • There will be an opportunity for group photos. Please let me know if you do not want your child in these pictures.
  • Children return to parents and have the opportunity for individual photos.
  • Return caps and gowns.

Thanks!

New 2L Crew building

We have been enjoying getting to know each other this week and building our Crew spirit. We have been building our teamwork skills by completing some Commando Jo activities and enjoying our text ‘The Perfect Fit.’ We have enjoyed collecting natural materials to make different shapes and we are looking forward to doing some shape printing and thinking about why we are so unique tomorrow.
