Sports for Champion – Sponsorship Money

Hi Plover Crew

Just a gentle reminder, can all children bring in their sponsorship money/forms by next Monday 21st May!

In support for the Sports for Champions campaign, then we can count our whole school total and give out prizes for the highest fundraisers in each KS1, before the half term holidays! #LovePlover

Heritage bus

To start of our Case Study 2 today, we had a special visit from the Heritage bus. The children loved finding out about the old bus, comparing it to modern day busses and getting to explore the bus.

We Are Geographers

After reading the story of Handa’s surprise, we looked at Africa on a map today and then studied Kenya in closer detail. The children made some great observations about Kenya and were able to explain similarities and difference’s to our country.

African Drumming

The children have really enjoyed having a go on the djembes this week. We learnt how to keep a beat and experimented with our own rhythms.

Story Sequencing

This week we have been looking at the story Handa’s surprise and comparing the similarities and differences to Little Red Riding Hood. The children worked hard to sequence and re tell the story of Handa’s surprise.

Tasting fruit

Thank you to our school cook Mrs Williams who helped us today. We tasted different fruit from the story Handa’s Surprise and some other fruit too.

We thought that the pineapple and the watermelon were delicious. Some of us liked the pomegranate.
