Year 5 are focusing on striking and fielding in PE this half term. The children focused on throwing and catching to start and then moved on to having a beginners game of cricket. Keep up the great work Year 5!

During our PE session with Coach Adam we began our next unit of PE.. Dance! To start we warmed up our bodies moving around the space like different animals. The children loved moving around like frogs which links to our current expedition. Coach Adam challenged the children to hold different balance positions as well as different ways to move around. He then added obstacles and special challenges to make it more challenging.
Well done to Corben, Jaxon and Bailey who were our PE stars of the day. 🌟
In our PE lesson this week, we were practicing dribbling the ball using small touches. The children were then asked to work as a team to race each other to see who could complete the course the fastest.
The children we then challenged further by having more cones to move through. We had lots of fun with Coach Morgan & Coach Adam!
Big Congratulations to Lola and Joe, our sports stars of the week! 🌟
What we got up to last week:
In PE we have been continuing to work on our team work skills. The children were split into small groups and had the task of getting across the playground using only two skipping ropes without falling off. They were amazing!
In Maths we have been looking at subtraction. We looked at this in a variety of different ways.
Kindness Week: We have loved all of our kindness week activities as part of our new case study! We have made kindness badges (with the help of our lovely Year 6 students) to remind everyone to be kind. We talked about the importance of friendships and what it takes to be a good friend! We had a very special visit from some nurses for our Safe Touch talk. We discussed the importance of positive relationships, what they look like and the importance of trusted adults.
In our PE lesson today we practiced passing the hall between the cones. To level up from the skills we had learnt last week the children then added space between their passes.
