Today in Maths, we noticed that any number divided by itself always equals 1. We also noticed that the quotient (answer) of a division question will be the same as the dividend (the amount that will be divided) if our divisor (what we divide by) is 1.
Well done everyone – some great links made today. I wonder if you can apply today’s fluency to tomorrow’s reasoning and problem solving…

We have been so lucky today to meet a real-life polar bear scientist in a live online call.
Joanna really brought our expedition to life today, when she talked to us about her job studying polar bears and telling us about how they live on the arctic ice.
Continue readingWe have been thinking a lot about our emotions and learning new words to describe them.
Today in crew, we thought about the times when we have have felt proud, delighted, upset and angry. To show our understanding we played the ‘corners game’ and listened to the scenario and decided which emotion the person in the scenario was feeling. We enjoyed it so much and were so good at it that some of the children even shared a scenario for us to guess the emotion they felt. Tommy was really angry and upset when his toy dinosaur got broken.
6B have really enjoyed their trip to Crucial Crew today. They have learnt lots of life lessons. Please ask your children tonight to share what they have covered today as some of their advice could just save your life!

3GS worked really hard researching the County of South Yorkshire. They used images to make predictions and then used the internet to look up facts that they turned into a presentation that they shared with the class.
We are proud of how they worked in collaborative groups to complete the research and then how they had the confidence to stand in front of the class and speak. Really kind, specific and helpful critique was then shared by the class.
Well done guys.

We are loving our new text Someone Swallowed Stanley. This is the beginning of our narrative…
Well done to all our 6 Pride of Plover winners in KS1 for working hard, getting smart and being kind! #LovePlover

This week, we are exploring the composition of the number 6 in whole class maths. In provision, we have been using our knowledge of numbers to call the story book characters on the phone. We have had some great chats! We have been learning to write the number 6, starting in the correct place and measuring items from the Goldilocks story, using cubes. Mrs Bubb is so impressed with our hard work in maths and we can see every day that we are getting smarter!
