Coronation celebrations

Last Thursday, the whole school celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III. We all ate outside together on the field, enjoying a coronation themed dinner. In the afternoon, 4F enjoyed playing some fun times table games outside.

King’s Coronation Picnic

5M have had a wonderful time celebrating the King’s Coronation. We loved dressing in red, white and blue and had a lovely picnic outside, thank you so much to Adele and the kitchen team for making our delicious packed lunched in Union Jack themed boxes.

A Right Royal Celebration!

Having come to school in a mixture of red, white and blue colours, Key Stage 1 have been celebrating this weekend’s Coronation. We had some amazing crowns created for our competition and somemlovely Royal outfits.

After a lovely, Royal themed picnic lunch, this afternoon the children have been busy doing different activities as part of our expedition case case study about King Charles. We have been flag colouring, Corgi obstacle course creating, playing King’s corners and finally learning to sing and sign our National Anthem. The children only had 20 minutes each to learn the signs and then come together for a joint singalong. I’m sure you’ll agree that for such a short learning time, the children did amazingly well! We’re all ready for the Coronation this weekend now.

Awesome art!

We have used our observational skills to draw our self-portraits. To start, we took our picture on the Ipad and then had a go at drawing what we could see. After, we learnt some specific art skills to improve what we had originally done. We then used critique to make small improvements for our 3rd draft before doing our final critique and product. You can really see the progress!
