In provision this week we have been exploring stomp rockets. We have been testing how far we can make our rockets fly depending if we used a lot or a little bit of force.

We have started learning about the story “Whatever next!” and are practicing being storytellers. In provision the children have been acting out the story and have been making their own pictures to help them tell the story.

Some of the boys today were creative with how they made numbers in different ways using different resources. Well done to John-Boy for saying all his doubles and the different ways he could make 10.

Thank you to Mrs Ibbertson for bringing her boat to school today so that the children could find out what it is like to sail on a boat.
It was a bit slippery and it rocked. The children pretended to sail it and wore life jackets to keep safe.

Year 6 have been learning about the mining strike this afternoon. They have learned about the many different reasons that people might go on strike. We then looked specifically at why miners went on strike. The children then thought of something they felt passionately about and made their own placards about this. #LovePlover

Today, Y3&4 had a visit from Mrs Poncia. She spoke about her experience of the FishLake floods. The children came up with some excellent question to ask her at the end of the session.
Yesterday, Y5 pupils visited the Doncaster Rovers football stadium to play in a friendly, memorial tournament. Well done to everyone who participated, we played our best.
