Yesterday, Y3 and Y4 enjoyed a day of science. Expert Mrs Pantegi came to speak to the children about deafness and how the ear works. As well as this, we explored how sound is made and how sound travels.

To cool us down this afternoon we enjoyed some ice cream! The children have worked so hard this term so definitely deserved this treat.

In maths today we thought about whether numbers are odd or even and if they are a double. Some children used manipulatives, some used their fingers and some worked it out in their heads.
There was a lot of talk about the numbers.
These were some of the reasons.
It is odd because it doesn’t have afriend.
It is odd because it isn’t the same on each side. It means it isn’t a double.
This is a double because if you split it in the middle it makes 3 and 3.
I know it is a double because 5 and 5 makes 10 and that is the same.
Well done everyone.

Kaya was very excited to share her learning today. All the children created story maps. Kaya extended her learning by drawing a picture to go with her story. Well done Kaya.

Well done to Borimir, Josie and Maria who have worked really hard in maths today with their doubling and odd/even numbers. Almina and Dolunay also got postcards for being super kind and helping their peers.

I could not be prouder than I am of these superstar readers! These children started the year very unsure and not very interested in reading. The progress they have made has been fantastic!
Well done to each and every one of you, your determination and resilience has been brilliant.
I am so happy you enjoy reading more now!

Today, year 2 have been refreshing their knowledge of the continents. To help them learn them the children have enjoyed an old fashioned game of beetle drive.

In expedition this morning we continued to be story creators and thought about what our character needed to take with them on their journey. We used the objects from the story as our starting point and then thought of own objects.
