Reading Superstars

Today in my phonics group the children worked on on their partner reading norms. It was great to see them supporting each other. A big shout out to all of you!

Plover Chocolate Makers

As part of their expedition, Sissy, Luke and Miriam have been learning about rainforests and how chocolate is made. Well done to you all on your fantastic chocolate creations!

Year 1 Homework and Reading Bags

Today, children in Year 1 will be bringing home their homework bags. This contains a little bit of homework and a reading for pleasure book.

The homework sheet has a little bit of maths and spelling on. There are also some optional QR codes to help with reading and phonics.

The children have also chosen a book to enjoy with their adults. This is a shared book not a levelled reading book.

The children will begin to bring their levelled reading books home in the next few weeks, once they have started using these in class.

Please return the book bag and homework on a Friday. This will then be changed and sent home again on a Monday.

Extending learning

During provision time Milana chose to play with number tiles. She could recognise the numbers and could explain which one was next. She continued the number line after 10 checking with the numbers on the number line and on the wall. She also shared with her friends and helped them in their learning.

You are s superstar Milana.

Working hard

Georgia and Maisie have both learnt to read words using Fred Talk this week. They were excited to share their learning with the children.

Reggie has been trying really hard in maths and phonics and has made lots of progress this week. He has enjoyed sharing his learning and has been very helpful. Well done Reggie.

F2 Pride of Plover

This week Mylo earned the yellow t-shirt. He has learnt to blend this week and has tried hard in his learning. The children guessed that he had got it due to all his hard work. Well done Mylo. We are all proud of you.

Ivy-Beau has been trying lots of new things especially at dinner time even when she thought she wouldn’t like it. We are really proud of how you have persevered and challenged yourself.

Great English Learning

We have been studying the book ‘Vlad and the Great Fire of London’ and we have been using active learning and drama hot seating to help us understand how Vlad might have been feeling in the story. This has set us up nicely to do some brilliant writing !

Hot Seat: Vlad
