Well done to Milana for fantastic maths today. She was able to say the different ways she could make 5 as well as the ways she could make the numbers within 5. You are a superstar!
Well done to Patsy-Ann who also said how she could make 5 and then challenged herself to record what she had found out. Fantastic maths.
Freckle is an online learning platform that allows students to independently practice Maths. This is an optional homework that can help children improve their fact recall.
Freckle continuously adapts to each child’s individual skills, so each student is getting the appropriate challenge, whether they’re working at, above, or below the expected level.
Children can practice in Freckle on their own for a certain amount of time every day or week. Even if the teacher doesn’t give you specific instructions, your child can access Freckle and practice on their own at any time.
There are several different, age-appropriate and skill-level-appropriate maths activities that students can practice independently.
This week the children will bring home details of how to log onto Freckle. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the team.
Today we listened to the 1812 overture. We thought about how it made us feel. We then talked about loud and quiet and how we could move like fireworks to the music, going up, down and around. We had some very creative children.
We dipped conkers in paint and then rolled them down the ramp to create a firework picture. We spoke about the different colours and what happened as the colours mixed together. We also discussed the different patterns we could see and how it looked like fireworks when they pop.
Just to remind you that school photographs will be on Monday 6th October. If you have pre school siblings you are invited into school between 8 and 8:45 to have photos taken, in school siblings will be done during the day. All children will have their photo taken and you will receive your proof card to order these in the coming days. Don’t forget to come to school looking super smart F1 and with big cheesy smiles!
I am so pleased with you all this week F1, you have all worked extremely hard and shown great focus! An extra shoutout to Paizlee and Nusang who have worked exceptionally hard this morning.
Paizlee was able to remember that Guy Fawkes is the reason we celebrate bonfire night and Nusang has done some beautiful artwork expressing a range of emotions.
Year 3 had such fun outside in PE learning how to work as a team. They took part in a lot of team building activities that focused on teaching the children how to communicate effectively whilst solving different problems.
Today we have used our senses to taste, smell and explore traditional bonfire treats. We spoke about how the toffee apple and parkin both smelt sweet but had different textures to them.
