Today in F1 we have been learning about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. We used our fine motor skills to cut out candles and stick them on the Menorah.

Happy Easter to everyone from 2L! We hope you have a lovely Easter break and Easter Bunny brings you lots of yummy treats! See you after the holidays x
In Year 2 today we learned about Judaism. The children found out about the Jewish Sabbath day called the Shabbat. The children enjoyed learning about a new religion and became experts in Jewish prayer at home.
The children enjoyed their egg hunt today following on from the story We’re going on an Easter egg hunt. Easter Bunny had hidden the numbers really well and we had to try really hard to find them!
Happy Easter everyone.

Today we explored the festival of Hannukah. The children watched clips of the festival and learnt new words such as Menorah, Dreidel and Judaism. The children made Menorahs and practiced Hebrew writing. They were able to compare the candles to other festivals we have learnt about with lights.

6B had a lovely afternoon during ‘Faith Day’. The children studied Judaism and how Jewish people celebrate Yom Kippur. We looked at what happens during Yom Kippur and how it represents a day of atonement where Jewish people ask for forgiveness for any wrongdoings and make pledges. With this in mind, the children then made their own cards to apologise to anyone they felt they had wronged, or pledges of how to be the best versions of themselves.

Today we went on an egg hunt, after reading the story, We’re going on an egg hunt. We worked together as a crew to find the Easter eggs and match up the patterns on them. I hope you all have a lovely Easter holidays and stay safe.

Today F2 learnt about the life cycle of a chicken. They activated their learning by watching a clip about chicks and what happens to them. They constructed their learning working in pairs to sequence the life cycle and then demonstrated what they knew using the words then and next.

Today we made rice crispy cakes. We poured rice crispies into a bowl of melted chocolate and mixed it together. We noticed the more rice crispies we added, the harder it was to mix. Then we put the mixture into bun cases, and put it in the fridge, discussing how the cold temperature of the fridge would help the chocolate to set hard again.
