4B hook week

4B had an amazing hook week. First, we started the week off by dressing up as characters from Charlie and the chocolate factory. Big shout out to Lenna and Kai for bringing in some delicious treats to munch on while we watched the original film. During the week, we also did some chocolate tasting and chocolate wrapper critiquing. We then designed our own individual chocolate wrappers, one of which will be used for our final product. I wonder whose will be chosen?

Since hook week, the children have been working super hard to produce some amazing, descriptive writing inspired by the story of Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Next week, we will be officially starting our fist history cast study; Who worshipped chocolate? I Can’t wait to see what amazing learning you will produce.

Fantastic learning

There was some fantastic learning in child initiated learning time today.

Arianna, Georgie and Scarlett did some super writing about the seaside. Georgia painted a picture of a mermaid. She took lots of care and was careful how she mixed the colours.

F2 Pride of Plover

Today we chose Harry and Reeshan. Harry has been working hard particularly in maths. He has been coaching his friends and showing them different ways to solve problems. Reeshan has settled well into school after only starting a few weeks ago. Both boys were really happy to get their certificates.

You are both superstars.

We went to post our postcards to Helen today. We followed a trail and answered clues along the way. The footsteps on the map showed us which way to go.

Pride Of Plover

This weeks Pride Of Plover has gone to Ocean and Otis. Both children have settled into school beautifully, work so hard and are kid members of our crew. They are a pleasure to teach and always have a smile on their faces, so proud of you both, keep it up.

Speedy reading

3F have started using dictionaries in speedy reading to find the definition, and word class of different words. As well as this, some students have been using dictionaries in their writing to check spellings.

As some of you may know, in June the children will sitting their Phonics Screening Check. 

This year we have been following the Read Write Inc scheme and we would like to share with you some of the practices so you could support your child further. I invite you to come and see this in action. As well as having the opportunity to work with your child and practice their sounds.
