Today we have been talking about the changes we can see in our plants, since planting the seeds. We spoke about the roots, shoots, leaves and stalk and how you need to be gentle with them as hey are living things. We learnt that plants need sun, water and to eat nutrients from the soil, to grow. We did some active learning to help us remember which are the roots and which are the shoots.
Thursday 5th February is our family learning. These sessions for F1 will be held at the follow times. AM children family 10:30-11:30. PM/30 hours family learning 2-3pm. We will be making vehicles so please fetch any boxes/butter tubs/milk carton lids/etc into school ASAP so that we are aware what resources we have beforehand.
Otis was our Pride of Plover today. He is an amazing example of the Plover Pledge. He works very hard and challenges himself in his learning. He is kind to his friends and helps them in their learning. It is such a pleasure having Otis in our class. Well done Otis.
Just a reminder that we have the nurses in to talk about Safe Touch on Wednesday. A letter was sent earlier in the term, which will have all the information you need, but if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
We learnt different stories of Little Red Riding Hood and sequenced the story. We discussed how Little Red Riding Hood moved down the path and described the other characters. #LovePlover
Well done to James and Conor. You have both been working really hard and trying your best. Conor has grown in confidence and has shared his learning. James has been writing sentences on his own and has been looking after his friends.
As part of our Geography case study, 2P learnt what was meant by the phrases’ bird’s eye view’ and ‘aerial view’. We then linked this to how maps are created and why they use an aerial view. We explored our classrooms and imagined what they would look like from above. We then used different resources to create a simple map of our classroom. We did really well!
Year 5 turned the volume up this week as they rocked into Rockstar Day in true style! Dressed head to toe as rockstars, the children brought energy, enthusiasm and plenty of attitude to their learning.
Throughout the day, Year 5 focused on sharpening their timetables skills, showing fantastic concentration and determination while enjoying the fun, rock-themed atmosphere. Guitars, leather jackets and star poses were everywhere, but so was some brilliant maths learning.
The highlight of the day was taking part in the first ever Plover Rockathon. The children gave it their all, supporting one another and clearly having a great time while challenging themselves.
A huge well done to everyone involved for such a positive and exciting day. Rockathon results will be announced on Monday, and we can’t wait to celebrate the successes. Rock on, Year 5! 🎸⭐
Well done to Ivyanna and Charlie for being our Pride of Plover children today. They have both worked really hard and always try their best. We are very proud of them.
F2BP had lost of fun exploring number day. They learnt new games, made racing car tracks with numbers on and spoke about the numbers that they were wearing.
