We are tiddlywink champions!

3H have been introduced to their new expedition this week – they have worked out answers to clues which gave them their guiding question! I wonder if they can remember this and tell you what it is?

We have played traditional games that would have been played by children during WWII – the tiddlywinks competition proved to be very successful. It’s fair to say that all children were very excited by this and very competitive too!

Fantastic First Week!

What a great first week we have all had.

Thank you to everybody who was able to join us on Sports Day – it was a great community event to start the new school year. Well done to all our children for taking part and joining in the fun!

Appreciations to Oliver, Ashton, Carys, Maisie-Ella, Dersim, Liam, Lorenzo, Harper, Riley and Abigail for supporting with the KS1 sports day – you were all fab!

Remember to check the class blogs to see all the great learning happening throughout school. Should you wish to receive notifications of new blog posts, then please subscribe via the front page of the school website.

Have a lovely weekend.

What a day!

We had a great morning. As you can see, in the pics, we have been immersing ourselves in things to do with castles; designing outfits for Kings and queens, building cup castles in teams, role play, printing stone work onto our role-play castle walls and lots more! I wonder what our Expedition will be about?

Welcome Back

We have had such a lovely first day back. It was lovely to see so many happy faces this morning! We’ve been getting to know each other in Crew, started to develop our learning behaviours and we even started to learn what might lie within the castle walls.

So proud!

Here is a beautiful video of F2W singing ’Proud’ today. You have all made me so incredibly proud this year and I wish you all the very best as you continue your school journey into year 1. Keep working hard, getting smart and being kind, I will miss you all.

Heat Warning

I am sure you are all aware that the Met Office has extended an amber extreme heat warning for Sunday 17 July, Monday 18 July and Tuesday 19 July, as temperatures will build this weekend and early next week for much of England and Wales.

https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/about-us/press-office/news/weather-and-climate/2022/heat-to-peak-early-next-week

As a school we will be following government guidance:

Avoiding outside play.

Reducing break times outside and eliminating them altogether if we feel the need when we assess the heat and amount of shade on the day.

Continuing to ventilate classrooms as much as possible including opening windows and doors earlier in the morning.

PE sessions will be cancelled on these days.

Children will constantly have the opportunity to fill water bottles.

We would ask you to support for the rest of the term by:

Children can wear light, loose fitting and comfortable clothing – no denim please.

Applying sun cream before children attend school and sending in sun cream to reapply should they need to.

Ensure children have sun hats.

Send children with water bottles.

Thank you for your ongoing support
