We’ve had some amazing writing in 6T today. I am so incredibly proud of the children who wrote all day (with breaks!) because they were so enthusiastic about their work. I was told by several of the children how much they’d enjoyed the writing, which was a joy to hear. Here’s a look at our models but look out for the finished stories coming next week. Keep up the great work everyone! #LovePlover

This morning, Crew Longley were slightly sleepy during our crew session. To ensure we were energised and ready to get smart, we participated in one of the Joe Wicks fitness sessions. This certainly got us huffing and puffing but ready to learn!
This year the children will be using Freckle to develop their maths skills. Freckle provides differentiated maths practice that balances fun with learning.
The log in details have been emailed to parents / guardians this evening. Children will also be bringing home details later in the week.
Kind regards
KS1 Team

Mrs Bailey was impressed with Kaiden and Bailey yesterday in maths. They both worked very hard and were focussed in large and small group.

It’s been such a busy couple of days in 6T! The amount of learning the children have squeezed into the last two days has been nothing short of amazing. I don’t know how they have kept up! We have been starting to think ahead to our stories next week, preparing some correctly punctauted dialogue that we will write into our final piece. We have then done some further reading on the moon landing.
In Maths, we have started to look at negative numbers. The children worked so hard on this, using their number lines to support their thinking.
I am really noticing the children’s critique skills improving too, they are coming up with great suggestions for improving their work! #LovePlover
Today in Year 2 we had a banquet in class. We all had a different role to play and everyone had a great time! We had a King and Queen, Lords and Ladies, Knights, musicians, a jester and kitchen and waiting staff. The children enjoyed food and dancing and then we reflected on what it might really have been like to attend a real banquet in the past.

Today in 2LP we were learning about the feudal system in medieval England. We worked collaboratively and found out who was the most important person in the country down to the lowest people in society.
We couldn’t decide who we’d less like to be, a Knight had a dangerous job but we thought the poor peasants had it worse! The children were shocked to find out that the life expectancy of a peasant was only 30 years old, although a few of them said that 30 was very old!

3H have had the best week yet! They are trying so hard to become awesome learners by listening with more care and by helping each other when needed. I look forward to seeing how we grow even more as the year progresses.
Well done you superstars!

See you Wednesday 3H – I’m in Manchester all day Tuesday with Miss Farrow on a course!
