EYFS colour run – F1

This week we have been learning about compassion. We have learnt that we are all different and we can all do different things. To celebrate we had a ‘this is me’ paint party which started with us dancing to the song This Is Me, from The Greatest Showman, before doing our colour run. Keep your eyes peeled for a video over the coming weeks.

Literacy Kicks

Year 6 really enjoyed their experience of being a sports journalist with Gareth. They produced some beautiful pieces of writing.

We are Historians.

2P have been History detectives as we explored the events of the Great Fire of London. We pieced together evidence to see if we could work out who or what was to blame for the fire starting and spreading. We discussed the evidence from different sources and concluded that it was the result of several factors, including the weather, Thomas Farriner, the Lord Mayor of London, and the way houses were built. We followed that up by looking at evidence from different artefacts that archaeologists have discovered, along with diary evidence from Samuel Pepys, to work out what we could learn about London in 1666. We are getting really good at identifying the cause and effects of events at the time!

Literacy Kicks Journalist Workshop

Thank you to Gareth from #LiteracyKicks #SportingHeritage #WomenInRugbyLeague for leading a Rugby League journalism workshop with our Y5/6 children! The children were immersed in the rise of women’s rugby league, due to the Hall of Fame 1996 Lionesses team! We were lucky to have Jill Adam a local inspirational role model who was an integral part of that team! The children wrote some awesome articles! #LovePlover
