Y1/2 Football Tournament

Well done to our Y1/2 children who took part in their first ever football tournament. They finished 5th – winning 2 games, drawing 2 games and losing 3 games. Plovers superstar player was Y1 Vinnie – for his 2 goals! #LovePlover

F2M Fieldwork at Austerfield

We’re going on a big bus. Then we arrived at Austerfield. We’re going to make a circle. Then we wandered into the woods. We made some wood porridge for the 3 Bears and created some bear faces using natural outdoor resources. We played bear tag whilst trying to steal the porridge. We’re going to enjoy our lunch. We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re going to catch a… we explored, we learned, we found, we made, we played and we helped each other. WHAT A BEARUTIFUL DAY! #LovePlover

The Mayor’s Walk and Wheel Prize – Thank You Ed Clancy

WOW – what an active day! A huge thank you to South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, who awarded Plover Primary a cycling workshop prize with Ed Clancy – triple Olympic Gold Champion and Active Travel Commissioner. In recognition of our schools promotion of active travel, alongside the number of children participating in the Mayor’s Walk and Wheel Challenge.

Thank you to Emily Cherry (CEO- The Bikeability Trust) and the bikeability team, for their generous donation of balance bikes to the children of Plover.


Thank you to Cycle North for their engaging and supportive ‘learn to ride’ workshops, teaching 26 of our KS2 pupils to ride a bike for the very first time.

Thank you to Judith Shaw from Doncaster Council Road Safety Education, for your kind donation of bike lights.

We enjoyed a whole school assembly led by the inspirational Ed Clancy, children were awarded with bikeability badges and snap bands. #LovePlover #Bikeability #CycleNorth #SYMCA

Kick Start Girls FREE Multiport’s Programme

‘KickStart girls’ initiative is ready to get going! 

Start date: 02/11/2024

Location: Hall Cross Lower School, St Michael’s Road, DN4 5LU. 

Days: Mondays & Fridays. 

Timings: 5:15pm-6:15pm. 

Coaches names: Emily Medlock & Emily Bell 

Please remember this is a completely FREE multisports programme for girls aged 5-10.

Brilliant Balance Bikers!

In F2BP today, we had a great morning learning balancing skills. The children listened to the instructions really well, kept safe and had fun. We had one fall but she got back on and was a trooper! We have so much fun in F2! IT IS GREAT COMING TO SCHOOL 🙂

FREE Community Dance Lessons starting @ Plover

From Friday 8th November 2024 for 7 weeks, Plover Primary School will be opening up their facilities to the community for children from 5-13 years old, to take part in some FREE dance lessons 4.45pm-5.45pm.

Please complete the form below to register your interest and we will be in touch to confirm your place. Please note, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Parents can drop off and pick up children from Plover school’s main reception – via Coniston Road.

Y3/4 Football Semi Finalists

Unlucky to our Y3/4 footballers today at Owston. They finished a creditable 4th out of 8 schools. Running out of steam after being 1-0 up in the semi-final.

Plover’s players of the tournament go to – Angel for her brilliant goal against Norton and Evanas for working hard in every game, showing some brilliant bravery and skills. #LovePlover

Y3/4 Football Tournament Reminder – Tomorrow 10.10.24

Just a reminder that these Y3/4 children are playing in a football tournament tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 10th October): Samuel S, Bobby E, George E, Ralph C, Evanas S, Sulieman A, Nevaeh B, Angel R, Raegan B, Kodie-Lee H.

The coach will pick the 10 children and Mr Meade up at 12pm. The coach will drop us back off at Plover after school at approx. 4.30pm, for parents to then pick up.

Can all children please bring to school tomorrow, football boots/trainers, shinpads, water bottle, waterproof coat. Mr Meade will provide sports kit for all the children.

If the time of drop off is earlier or later then 4.30pm [email protected] will email parents to inform you.
