What’s your pirate or mermaid name?
Today, we made up our own pirate and mermaid names. Some of us used a code to find letters that helped us make them. Some of us just used our imagination to make them up and some of us picked from the choices Mrs Bubb gave us to put together into a name. However we made our name, we loved being creative and having fun!
Our case study three fieldwork- strawberry picking!
Today Year 5 & 6 pupils built on their autumn expedition where they learnt about how growing your own produce can help protect our planet and how this links to our current Expedition ‘How can a healthy lifestyle impact your body and mind?’ Instead of purchasing strawberries from a shop, they spent the afternoon strawberry picking at a local strawberry field. They will be using the strawberries as part of our family learning event tomorrow. They were so impressed with how fresh all of the strawberries were and have shared that they want to encourage their family and friends to get involved with growing their own fruit and vegetables!
I can’t wait to see the outcome of the healthy desserts tomorrow!

Number bonds to ten in F2
We used our rekenreks to make ten. We used one finger one push to move a number of beads and then saw how many were left on the other side. We saw five and five make ten without even moving any beads. Now we need to learn the other number bonds to ten facts. If you see us, ask us how we can make ten. Mrs Bubb hopes we will be able to tell you some!

Pride Of Plover
Hana and Thea got our Pride Of Plover badges this week. They have both been working really hard in phonics, and have shown great perseverance with their handwriting. Thea has also improved her attendance, coming to school every day this week. Well done girls!

Beautiful Work This Week
XP Gateshead Students Shine as Digital Leaders in Exciting Expeditions Project
Students at XP Gateshead are stepping up in a big way as Digital Leaders, diving into the world of technology to record content for their Expeditions. Teaming up with the XP Trust Comms Crew, these young tech enthusiasts are taking on the role of professional sound technicians. They’re not just learning the ropes of audio recording and editing – they’re skilfully mastering them, gaining hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom and reaching into real-world applications.
It was so inspiring to see these students get stuck in and take charge of such an important project. Across our Trust, students are constantly proving that with enthusiasm and dedication, they can achieve anything. A massive appreciation to these Digital Leaders for going above and beyond!

Super Scientists in 3SG
This week we have been working as scientists, we have made Oobleck and tried to determine if it is a liquid or a solid, we have beenusing thermometers to find the warmest and coldest areas in school and then observing ice cubes to discover if temperature affects the rate of melting.
We really have been engaged in our learning and can’t wait to discover more about solids, liquids and gases.
