Beautiful Work This Week

Park Smart, Walk More, Stay Safe!

Plover School is excited to join the “Walk and Wheel Challenge” by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. This fun initiative gets kids walking, cycling, and wheeling to school, making travel safer and healthier.

But that’s not all! The students are also tackling a big issue – problematic parking around the school. They’ve made a video asking everyone to park considerately so driveways aren’t blocked and crossing the road stays safe.

Spread the word, watch their video, and look out for their signs around the area to support their efforts.

A Message from C29

‘This week, our school hosted the Conversation Club, shedding light on the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. One major expense is transportation, but we realised that having a bike could eliminate this cost and provide free, reliable transport.

In response, we are organising a bike drive, inviting the community to donate any old bikes, which will be invaluable to those in need. You can drop off your bike donations at XP Doncaster, and we will ensure they are distributed by the Conversation Club to refugees and asylum seekers, helping to ease their daily struggles. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.’

We are Artists

Today we started our artwork using our line drawing skills. We are going to create a final drawing of the Deaf School. Today was our first attempt and we will critique and improve them in our next session.

What do you think so far?

Working to help each other

In crew today we were working on getting better at helping each other. We had to work together to complete the race. We had lots of fun and talked about how we had taken turns, shared, didn’t push and had helped each other.

Well done everyone

Tromsø and Intake D&T Box Models

We were design technologists last week and compared our local community of Intake, Doncaster to Tromsø in Norway. The children crafted together physical features like fjords, valleys, mountains, waterfalls to represent Tromsø. Then human features such as roads, roundabouts, shops, flats and Plover Primary school that we have in Intake. #LovePlover

UKS2 family learning- using our strawberries to create a dessert!

Thank you so much to all of the parents and carers who came to our family learning event this afternoon. It was an amazing turn out!

Our children, parents and carers had the opportunity to use the freshly picked strawberries from yesterday’s fieldwork to make a dessert together. I know the children had so much fun. They are so passionate about the importance of utilising home-grown produce based on prior learning in their autumn Expedition and I know many shared their pledges with their parents today on how they will incorporate this into their every-day lives.

We hope you all enjoyed the tasty treats and we look forward to welcoming you all to our celebration of learning event on the 1st July to reveal our final product and to participate in our phase colour run, whilst raising money to support our children’s mental well-being. We can not wait!

Active Travel and National Sports Week

Well done to all the children who are continuing to walk or wheel to school, parking safe, getting active and helping save the planet. We’ve continued being active in school too, with active crew, active learning and active lining up! @SouthYorksMCA #WalkandWheelSY

Deaf School Recount

Yesterday, the children did a verbal recount of their school trip to The Deaf School. Then today the children worked hard to text mark the model recount. They got smart and learnt about the features used within a recount write. #LovePlover
