Danum Read Aloud

Last night I had the privilege of supporting Johnny (year 5) at the Danum Read Aloud Competition held at the Danum Art Gallery and Museum.

Johnny performed his piece with real confidence and and lovely expression, despite recovering from a sore throat!

The competition was tough and the prize was won by a girl from another school, but Johnny remained upbeat and positive – a real credit to our school!

Well done Johnny, we couldn’t have been prouder of you!

KS1 CoL Appreciation

Thank you to Dame Rosie Winterton for officially opening our KS1 Eco-Garden!

Many thanks to Dame Rosie, Doncaster Frenchgate, DMBC Street Scene, Mrs Barras and Mrs Ogle for all your commitment to our community and environment!

We would also like to thank the Tree Council for providing the lovely fruit trees and hedge plants.

Thank you to all the parent/carers for your cooperation and thank you to all our KS1 children for your beautiful work and displaying a real purpose of activism!

Rice Crispies Buns

Today we made rice crispy cakes. We poured rice crispies into a bowl of melted chocolate and mixed it together. We noticed the more rice crispies we added, the harder it was to mix. Then we put the mixture into bun cases, and put it in the fridge, discussing how the cold temperature of the fridge would help the chocolate to set hard again.

Scotty’s Hero’s

Scotty’s hero’s came to visit yesterday morning for our blue crew winners across school. In the afternoon we was lucky enough to get a turn on the bouncey castle course before they packed away.
