We had a thank you card today from Tiny Hands for the teddy bears and care packages we sent them. They were very touched with the kindness and thought. Well done EYFS.

Last week, our children discussed how rubbish and pollution can affect bears around the world. We thought we would be kind to the animals and insects around our school, by completing a litter pick to keep our playground and outdoor areas clean! #LovePlover
Thank you to the grown ups for coming to our celebration of learning yesterday, we hope you enjoyed our jams sandwiches the children made for you. #LovePlover
We had a wonderful time sharing our learning with parents and our important visitors from the community. The children spoke about their learning, performed songs and a poem. They presented the bears and care packages to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Tiny Hands Baby Bank and to the Children’s home. They each received a bear too. Afterwards the children shared their learning and a picnic with their families.
Thank you to all the families that supported us and to Marley, Sue and Eleanor for joining us and taking our packages to help other children.

In crew we discussed what kind meant to us, how we can be kind and how others can show kindness. #LovePlover
We have been thinking today about how we show kindness to the world around us and the people in it. The children drew pictures of how they show they are kind and then we went outside to help Miss Trindall pick up the rubbish. She said the children were very kind to help her.

Today we have been geographers, learning about different places in the world where the bears live. The children chose their favourite bear and drew it. They then matched it to the countries that the bears are from. Some children made bear masks to match.

Today we have been learning facts about bears. We have learnt that some bears live in different places and some bears choose one place to live. The children sorted the pictures and talked to their friends about why they had chosen the habitat. They noticed that the polar bear was missing. Using their sticky knowledge, they could say that polar bears like to live where it is icy and snowy. A shout out goes to Riley who could share lots of facts about bears.

Today we explored and researched where real bears live all around the world. We noticed some bears live in mountains, some live in the forests, others live near ice bergs and some bears live in different places. #LovePlover
The snow and the polar bear pictures inspired the children to want to make paper snow flakes. Lots of fine motor skills used to fold and snip. #LovePlover
