Amazing Stories in F2!

The children loved the story we made up together so they made their own stories up. Mrs Bubb was so impressed with their imaginations, they got postcards! Can you see which characters are in our stories and where they are set?

Time to Read Tuesday

This Tuesday’s Snuggle and Story was lovely. We had some of our lovely parents coming to share books and snuggles with their children. We all picked a new book to take home. We talked about our British Value of ā€˜Liberty’ and how we get lots of choices in school. Some children decided to draw their favourite book too. We love reading in F2!

Wonderful writers!

Well done to Raegan and Lucas who produced wonderful plans about local hero, Douglas Bader. Both boys tried so hard to not only do their neatest handwriting but also remember all the key information we had learnt. Well done boys, I can’t wait to see your final fact files!

Characters

In F2, we have been thinking about characters from the stories we have read. This week, we are thinking about characters for our own seaside adventures. We talked about them and then went to create them using drawings, paintings, models or play dough in provision.

A signed recount!

This morning we have started our brand new unit of writing – writing a recount! As part of our new unit we discussed what a recount is and what some of the features are. We then used our experts (Thank you Miss Henderson and Mr Anderson) to learn some of the signs to help us orally retell our model text.

6B have been working hard at planning their poems!

These superstars have been working hard at planning their poems. They have picked apart a number of model poems to help and inspire them during their planning process. I cannot wait to read the finished poetry!

Come to Doncaster!

Today 2L has been learning about the features of posters. We looked at different examples of posters to help us understand what features they included to make them good. We decided that posters needed to be colourful, eye-catching, clear and bossy. Once we had finished, we critiqued each other’s posters and checked they had included all the features.

Posters!

2P has been learning about the features of posters. We looked at different examples of posters to analyse what we thought they included and what made them good. It was agreed that posters needed to be clear and concise. We then had a time limit to get across a simple message about visiting Doncaster. After the time was up, we critiqued whether we had achieved our objectives.

Great scholarship in 3SG

After editing and improving their excellent information texts, the children worked on their reading and spelling skills by accessing classroom resources quietly. A great example of using initiative and leading your own learning – lovely to see!
