Today we have snuggled up around a real camp fire, whilst enjoying hot chocolate and biscuits that Mrs Robertson had very kindly made for us on the fire. We read one of our key texts, ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’, and then this afternoon used outdoor equipment to re tell the story using props. #LovePlover

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt!
Today we have snuggled up around a pretend camp fire, that we worked together to build, and enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits. We read one of our key texts, ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’, and then came back inside to re tell the story using props.

A huge thank you to all of the parents/carers that came along to support us on our Austerfield visit yesterday, the children had a great day. We had great fun going on a bear hunt, and making porridge for Goldilocks and the three bears.

Well done to this week’s award winners
Well done to all the children who achieved certificates for their hard work at Times Table Rockstars and Reading Plus this week, keep up the amazing effort – we can’t wait to see more of you every week!
We are SPaG superstars
In English lessons, we have been working super hard to accurately punctuate sentences by identifying the verb, subject and leftovers. Everyone has worked well both collaboratively and independently. Your subject knowledge and ability to explain has been very impressive. Keep up the good work!

Story mapping – Goldilocks
Nursery have worked hard over the last two days, to collaboratively create a story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We discussed story sequencing such as the start and the end, and used our story map to help us independently re tell the story afterwards.

5S analyse the features of non-chronological reports
5S have worked brilliantly in pairs this morning to analyse the features of an expedition-related text which takes the form of a non-chronoligical report.
We read the text together then identified the features and their purpose, before sharing our ideas as a class.
We are persevering with dictionary dilemmas!
Finding words in a dictionary can be a tricky skill to learn; but with weekly practice, we are getting there. Some children are even ready to take on ‘Haycock the Hustler’ and compete to be the quickest to find all of our Speedy Reading key words.
Can any one beat my record times? Who’s up for the challenge, 3H?
