World Book Day – Wonderful Work

Well done to all the children who entered the Book in a Box competition. They were all so excellent, we really couldn’t pick a winner, so everyone is going to get a prize – I will be coming round this week so you can choose your prize book!

Thank you for taking part! They are all now proudly displayed in the library area of school, if you want to have a look.

4H World Book Day Fun…

4H embraced World Book Day whole heartedly and we had so much fun throughout the day. The live draw along with Phil Shepherd inspired us to imagine our own characters and ideas for the front cover of a book. The finished products are so good I need to have a new wall built somewhere so that I can display all of them! Getting comfy with a cushion seemed to be a favourite part of the day as we read more of our key text: The Last Bear. There really is nothing better than sitting back, relaxing and reading or listening to a great story. I’m sure someone fell asleep…no names mentioned!

Don’t forget that your book token can be used for £1 off of a book from our book fair when it arrives!

For the love of books!

Thank you to everyone who turned up in amazing costumes to celebrate World Book Day. You all looked amazing! We created bookmarks, celebrated our favourite books and continued to read our class story, which we are loving!

Kind, Caring and Beautiful

Crew Meade have created some lovely Mothers day cards. Esme has been so kind and brought in some small princess dresses for our Nursery children. Mateo, Sreelakshmi and Siyar have done some great home learning. Then we took some children to show their amazing handwritten stories to Mrs Ogle! #LovePlover

Dictionary Detectives in 4H

We have been so fortunate to receive funding to buy brand new dictionaries throughout school, providing all classes from Year 2 upwards a set of dictionaries and thesauruses – and 4H were the first class to use them!

We were investigating homophones, and they used the dictionaries to research the definitions of the homophones, so they could make sure they had selected the correct one.

Well done 4H!
