As part of World Kindness Day and Odd Socks Day, we have been thinking about how we can be special, stand out and kind.
We came up with some lovely suggestions to make sure we are kind and make each other happy.

Thank you to our expert visitors this week – ex Army Steph and Cornet player Sean!
Shout out to Elisa’s continued hard work and beautiful home learning. Well done to Mateo for working hard in Maths and expedition.
We have been artists this week in expedition using different materials and techniques to create our Flanders Fields and Poppy Wreath art!
We have been writers and learned about subjects and verbs, to write some lovely independent sentences.
In crew we learned about being a good friend.
A little visitor left us a special note to keep an eye on 1M ready for World Kindness day next week…
Have a great weekend 1M!

In English we have looked at nouns and verbs around our new text ‘Where The Poppies Now Grow’.
In expedition we were historians and have learned about Remembrance day, the significance of Poppies and recited Flanders Field poem.
In Maths we’ve learned about addition and number bonds within 10. We enjoyed problem solving games in PE.
In We Care Wednesday Crew we understood the importance of staying safe online. #LovePlover
UKS2 spent crew this morning getting to know one another. They had to sun it answers about themselves and then they were quizzed on their peers’ responses! What a fun way to build stronger relationships!

In We Care Wednesday Crew this morning we discussed how we can help and support families and relationships to make us and them feel better. Crew Meade shared some lovely ideas – taking their dogs for a walk, playing sports, going for food with family etc. #LovePlover
We really took the time to get to know each other on a deeper level this morning in crew and it was amazing! We write questions we wanted to know about one another and took turns to select a question and answer it. Positive relationships are so important!

Crew SB shared a story with the gorgeous children in EYFS as part of our ‘time to ready Tuesday’ crew sessions. They loved reading for pleasure and taking the time to share a book with the little ones. They enjoyed it so much they have asked if we can partner up to do this every month. Reading it so important, especially out loud!

Today in Crew we reflected on our pledges, spoke about our most enjoyable moment so far in Year 1 and then finished with some meditation! #LovePlover
We had great day glowing today!
In crew we were thinking about “What makes me glow” and we had some great suggestions from being with family, to doing well at sport.
We enjoyed some glow maths, with a game of ‘Bin-glow’ and a Glowing Maths Facts pair work challenge, where we tested what we have learnt about place value over the last few weeks.
After a lovely lunch, we worked as scientists and investigated light and darkness – what are light sources and what is darkness. Did you know, the moon is NOT a light source! We then conducted our own scientific experiments, investigating whether temperature affects how brightly a glow stick glows, what does light look like when broken down into its separate colours and how does tonic water glow in the dark.
We had a great first ever Glow Day

Crew Meade spoke in We Care Wednesday, about how acts of kindness towards others is such a lovely gesture and can make others feel appreciated! The children then made their own kindness coupons for friends or family. #LovePlover
