Elephant in the room!
This morning in academic crew, after our feelings check in. Crew Attenborough completed a problem solving task as part of our check in activity, they had 3-minutes to complete it…
After a really good effort, the children had identified it was an elephant. Although a little dismantled, we revealed the model and then gave 1-more minute for them to complete it.
And heres the outcome… top effort crew!
We then discussed how communication, collaboration, perseverance and resilience are key skills to have when working hard!

Deaf Awareness Talk
This morning in “We Care Wednesday Crew’ Mrs Cresswell kindly shared some of her expertise and made our children in KS1 aware of what being deaf or hearing impaired is like and how we cca support them.

Fabulous Fruit!
It was fabulous to see the children trying lots of different fruit as part of our healthy eating activities. First they thought about a balanced diet, looking at the different food groups. Then came the tasting…

We then created our own biscuit pizzas, using our favourite fruits. Yummy.

Money skills in Y1
The children really enjoyed being shopkeepers today. They had to think carefully about which coins to use and what change they would get.

F(ru)it to burst!
Today we have really enjoyed exploring different fruits and learning why they form a really important part of a healthy, balanced diet. For some of us, it was the first time we had tried fruit such as mango, kiwi and pomegranate. It was quite a discovery for some children to realise that they are delicious! Expect some specific requests on your shopping lists this week! We then turned our fruit into a simple, mainly healthy, fruit pizza. The children chose their own yoghurt and toppings and then tried to eat them without spilling any. Not easy! We then enjoyed eating all of the remaining fruit until we were full.

The children can’t wait for our activity tomorrow where we are tasting the fruit that was delivered today (Thank you Mrs Kibble).
We had a sneak peak today, the children are excited to see the inside of a pomegranate!

CREW- Aspirations
In Crew Attenborough we reflected on Englands successful victory in the Euros yesterday and how much joy it brought to our communities.
The children then shared what they would like to be when they are older and why. We spoke about how we can achieve anything if you WORK HARD!
We have future vets, pilots, footballers, chefs, builders, theme park workers, dancers, superhero actors and teachers 🙌🏽
